“Then come on!” Kat shouted back at him. She was too mad at Blue to wait for him. Then she got an idea. If she hadn’t seen the death note, how could they know Sai was really Kira? The idea of that loophole gave her hope. But she couldn’t let Rhyme know what she was thinking, or he’d probably try to stop her. She bit her lip at the prospect of keeping something so important from him, but she knew she had to. Plus, she had an idea of how to do it.

Blue got back to Seven with the book. "They expect me now. I cant spy on them anymore, they expect me,"
Wel, I guess I'm going to have to take a tchnical measure,"
"You're going to bug the place?" she asked
he snorted. "You kidding? Bugs are so inefficeint. their easily findable, need batteries, half the time you cant get them hardwired to your computer so you have to review all your information with the bug itself, I'd have to get in the room, and I don't have any!"
"Then what're you gonna do?"
"Hack into Whammy Houses security system. They've already got cameras in every room but the bathroom, and voice recorders in bathrooms to boot. All in the name of our saftey, of course. While I'm in there I'll erase this conversation so they dont know I hacked it,"
Teale's face split into a wide grin. "You bad-ass technological genious," she said, hugging him around the back as her got back to his computer chair. "I love you,"
"I know," He grinned and started working.

[FoxTrott]

As they reached the grounds of the orphanage, Rhyme started, and turned to Kat.

"I just remembered," he sad excitedly, "When we broke--I mean, unlocked the door and got beaten by Sai, Blue found some kind of break in the floorboards in his room. She thinks he's hiding something under there, and wants me to, well, spy on him to find a time she can go there and figure out what's under there..." Rhyme glanced around, as if he was afraid of eavesdroppers.

He continued in a quiet voice: "I think the notebook's in there. Your ex is smart enough to put some kind of anti-thief measures on that thing. I don't want anybody to get hurt, but I don't want anybody to be killed by Kira, either... What should I do?"

[Raven]

"If Blue was in his room he probably figures she was and that she saw the floor. He would have moved it," Kat answered smoothly. "If you're not sure he knows she was in there, then you can decide what you think is best. Sleep on it if you have to, you can't do anything about it today anyway. Let's get up to our room. I'm getting tired." She leaned her head on his shoulder.

Seven got through quickly. "They aren't in their rooms yet, so.... wait what is that outside?" He enlarged the image of the outside camera. "They're talking about your plan to sneak into Sai's," he said.
"Rhyme shouldn't be telling her about that!" Blue bit her lip.
"Now they've lowered their voices, I can't hear,"
"Can't you like, raise the volume later? And clean up the sound so you can hear them properly?" Blue asked.
"Maybe,"
"But I guess that would be a waste of time, huh? You might miss something,"
He shook his head. "They're giving off the same signals as before, but alot more secretive this time. I don't think they'll give any more information. Of course, theres still a chance, bbbut it's very slim,"
"How long will it take?" She asked as he saved the video of them talking to his computer.
"If it's possible? Maximum four hours,"

[FoxTrott]

"You're not the only one that's tired," Rhyme said, leaning his head on Kat's, "I've had a long day... Though, I guess you've had a long one, too." He stretched, and took Kat's hand as he walked towards the building, eager to get a good night's sleep.

[Raven]

When they reached their room, Kat flopped down on her bed and yawned. She forced herself to get up and get her pajamas as well as take off her shoes. "Do you want to change in the bathroom or do you want me to?" she asked Rhyme.

[FoxTrott]

"You can change in there," Rhyme said, motioning to the bathroom, "I'd rather someone barge in and see me shirtless than you." He paused, and laughed nervously. "I'm sorry, that sounds wrong. Just go ahead and change." The camouflaged detective grabbed a loose T-shirt and a pair of shorts from his closet, and began slipping into them when he figured Kat was in the bathroom.

Kat nodded and went to change. When she was done changing, she grabbed a brush and exited the bathroom. She brushed her hair over her shoulder, while standing in the doorway.

Rhyme turned around once he was finished, and saw Kat standing in the doorway of the bathroom.

"How long have you been standing there?" he asked, smirking.

[Raven]

Kat grinned. "Long enough," she replied, walking over to hug him.

[FoxTrott]

Rhyme hugged her back, smiling. Once the two let go, Rhyme flopped down on his bed, and sighed.

"I'm so glad this day is over," he groaned, rubbing his still-bruised nose, "Tomorrow's probably going to be worse, though, now that we've got the voice-changer working. We need to figure out what to do with the new L." Rhyme laid down, and rolled so that he was facing Kat. "I'm anticipating at least a few melt downs. What fun."

[Raven]

Kat sighed. "Yeah... I wonder if we'll get any free time tomorrow," she murmured, sitting lighting on her bed.

[FoxTrott]

"Maybe." Rhyme rolled so that he was facing the wall. He stayed silent for a couple minutes, thinking about the case.

"Hey, Kat?" He sat up, and looked at his roommate.

Kat cocked her head. "Yeah?" she asked.
