She looked up at the bird. She'd thought Nitrina was going to pull the staff away so he didn't have the option to attack, not free him up to be attacked. "She sighed. "I appreciate the effort, but if he is not going to harm us I mean him no harm. I am quite on my guard, I assure you," She sighed again, held up her hands, and the white ribbons wrapped all around the staff. The staff dissappeared and a second later a white ribbon came fromn her hand and, wish a flourish, revealed the staff in her hand, which she set carefully on the ground too close to herself for Xavier to safely retrive. "There," She said, hoping to at least appease the bird. Then she turned and answered Xaviers question normally. "Those who do not follow my sister" -a precious few- "And still believe in my exsistance" -even fewer- "Call me the White One," She allowed.

[Sparrow]

Xavier looks over to Kari after the staff disappears.
"The White one?" Xavier asks stifling a laugh.
"Don't you think that sounds a bit.... You know..." he says, then pauses deciding not to finish.
Nitrina lands in a tree, and watches, glad that no one had to be hurt.
Behind his back Xavier activates his ring.
"So what now?" he asks after a while, waiting for a chance to use the ring.

"And your point?" It was the only time there was even a hint of anger colouring her tone.

[Sparrow]

"Do you want me to finish what I was saying?" he asks calmly, giving her a pity look.
"Also I'm sorry, did I touch a nerve?" he asks seeing if he can get her to attack.

His comment did quite the contrary, she seemed to relax. "It is the offense to those few who are pure and believe that offends me, not any offense intended towards me," She said calmly, her mouth almost on the verge of a smile.

[Sparrow]

He is somewhat glad to see she is not quick to anger.
"Well anyway..." he aims his ring at K-9 "I do intend harm for you and them."
Suddenly a box made of light surrounds K-9.
"I wouldn't try to deactivate that box, it may cause a negative effect to your friend."
As he says this one of the carnation's petals falls out and grows back lighter than the others.

She looked at K-9 in the box, looked at the carnation, looked at Xavier, and sighed. "Well I suppose I have no choice," She went over and carefully, delicatley picked up the staff. She held the gem dangerously close to the ground. It would only take a quick flick of her wrisst to smash the staff against the ground and send the gem shattering to pieces.
"I do not normally approve of ultimatums, however here it appears to be neccessary. Please release my friend and leave us in peace, and I will make sure your weapon gets back to you,"

[Sparrow]

Xavier looks annoied, he sighs "Fine but we trade off at the same time." he says calmly.
Bringing the box next to himself.
The gem on the staff glows brightly as if it wants to be broken.
"Please don't break it, you don't know what it holds." he says worried.
He knew he had to protect the contents of the gem, and that was the most important thing.

She held the staff out at arms legnth but kept a firm grip, she wasn't letting go until she was sure K-9 was safe.

[Sparrow]

The box opens and releases K-9 safely.
"There you go, may I have that back now?" he asks putting his hand out.
The gem glows brighter.
"H-help me..." a faint voice calls from inside the gem, only heard by Kari.

:::Evil Xavier Explanation:::
Xavier used a healing power on Nitrina to cure her. The healing power works by removing all things that are, lets just say "bad", this includes personality. When Xavier traded health with Nitrina, Nitrina got his happy rhyming personality, Xavier in return got her evil personality. Over time the carnation filters out the "bad" things and he returns to his normal self. This works by having the flower drop blackened withered petals with grow back red, this continues until fully healed. The Gem causes illness overtime, this is why he was chosen to always protect the staff's gem, and never allow it to break. However the gem prevents the flower from quickly healing him.

Kari heard the voice and was surprised for a moment, but then sighed. Regardless of what it had been, she had told him she would give him the staff and she was going to keep her word. She handed it to him. There was something off about this whole mess. It had started when he healed that bird, and now suddenly he was acting like the bird and the bird was acting like him... she'd already noticed this, but before thought it irrelevant. But maybe it wasn't so irrelevant.

[Sparrow]

"Thank you." he says sharply, reaching for the staff.
The gem flashes a blinding light causing him to withdraw his hand. It starts sparking with black electricity. Xavier's expression changes from smug to a “I kinda deserve this” look.
"Aw, Fig Newton." he says worried, shutting his eyes.
The gem shoots off a bolt of black lightning sending him flying into the forest behind.
He gets up on his knees weakly, glaring at the staff. The bolt had nearly struck the carnation.
The staff sends off sparks of its evil aura causing a loud warped buzzing, a maniacal laugh comes from the staff, only heard by Kari.

Kari held it closer from her, hoping keeping it in her hands would keep it visibly subdued.
((In case you haven't figured it out yet, Kari and Kali are basically the cliched personifications of good and evil, so...))

The Gem continues to glow brightly, but doesn’t attack Kari.
Xavier weakly stands, using a tree for support.
He looks up, "You have to set it down!" he shouts over, though the buzzing breaks up the message. The gem starts to charge up another attack, while doing so near by trees begin to die.
