"That's why he's coming over here," Maggie responded as Ryan followed Abigail. She sat with Ayane and Kimiko.
"I'm glad you're okay," Kailen admitted.

[Gifted]

"Me too." Amy nodded. "and that's good. Darren probably needs someone to look at him, too. Ruby patched him up and I wouldn't trust anything that psycho did."
"That woman would be one hell of a psychological case study." Darren shuddered.

[Raven]

"I talked to her a bit," Kailen said.

[Gifted]

"You did?" Judas looked surprised and baffled. "Why would you-"
Amy, however, wasn't surprised, and cut him off with words that surprised him. "Doing some investigating on your own, huh? Good for you. Did you find out anything?"

[Raven]

"I think I figured out why Francis got promoted, and Ruby says she didn't look very hard," Kailen said.

[Gifted]

"Oh yeah? Why's that?" Amy asked curiously.

[Raven]

"She got knocked up and someone else took over," Kailen responded. "Brandon."

[Gifted]

"Ah. And since they failed, that means Brandon took the blame for botching the whole thing. He's probably in a shallow grave right now." Amy nodded. "My evidence corroborates that. The last evidence I can find of Ruby working on the search would put her around two months pregnant with Amber at the time. From what I remember of Ayane's pregnancy her morning sickness was the worst around that period, it's no wonder Ruby was in no condition to go running all over the damn continent and had to hand it off."

[Raven]

"What are you talking about?" Adam asked with the air of a father who knew damn well what they were talking about and didn't want to admit it.
Kailen ignored him. "That makes sense," he said to Amy. He hadn't really thought about it, having never been around a pregnant woman himself before.

[Gifted]

Amy nodded. "Your information has been a huge help. I haven't had the resources to chase any leads yet, but I've mapped out a plan of action and I know where to start. I'll keep you updated if I dig up anything."

[Raven]

"Kailen, are you trying to track Leia?" Adam asked, frowning.
Kailen rolled his eyes. "No, Grandpa had Ruby looking for Bigfoot for a while," he muttered.
"How did you even find out about her?" Adam asked.
"I can time travel, duh. Please can we not do this right now?" Kailen asked. "I bet Ayane could use a drink."
Adam sighed. "We will be talking about this later." He headed into the house to get a drink for Ayane.

Amy shook her head. "He acts so surprised."
"You never stop working, do you?" Darren asked, amused.
"Either you can stop working and wait for the villains to attack or you can continue to gather more knowledge and try to get ahead of them. Information saves lives." Amy insisted.

[Raven]

"Holding as many cards as you can isn't as important as holding the right ones," Maggie said. "We're all very fortunate that Ryan, Kailen, and Liam were able to help."

[Gifted]

"Liam helped throw this together?" Amy asked, surprised.

[Raven]

"Of course he did," Kailen said. "We weren't going to send him away without him saying it was okay."
