Skye let him run too, though Ryan saw her pause after the blow as if debating running after Raven. But instead, she kept her focus on Ryan.
Natalia sent a swarm of needles towards Skye and Ryan, forcing Skye to hold her arms up to her face and dodge out of the way. Natalia was still quite a distance from the fight, able to run the second Ryan was out of harms way, but she was trying to keep Skye occupied and off him.

Ryan pulled his second knife - he carried three, though in the future, he hardly ever seemed to run out of them (a myth he probably calculated to ensure it remained intact) - and turned to follow Raven and Amy while Skye was distracted.

Skye, however, was not about to let him get away without a fight for some godforsaken reason. She cut him off and aimed a punch at his chest, while Natalia's metal swarm frantically followed her to try to give Ryan room.

Ryan dodged out of the way to the best of his ability, driving his knife towards her arm.

Ryan actually managed to stab her, owing to her jumping out of the way of Natalia's much stronger attack. Glaring, she pulled her arm away and jerked back several feet, taking his knife with her.

[Raven]

Ryan took the advantage and continued pursuing Raven, keeping his head down.

Skye pulled the knife out of her flesh and threw it at Ryan's back, hoping to hit his as he was retreating. She would have then chased him, but Natalia's swarm attacked and she had to focus on avoiding the bits of metal.

[Raven]

Ryan was once again incredibly lucky, and the knife grazed his side, and he bent to pick it up before continuing after his friends away from Skye.
"We are going to have to come up with a better plan," Raven commented.

[Gifted]

Amy nodded. "That was intense." She said. She seemed like she was rapidly calming down now that her life was no longer in danger - or at least, trying too. They hadn't really seen Amy lose her cool like that before.

Skye was distracted by Natalia, though Natalia wasn't having much more luck actually hurting her than the others had been. It got Ryan away far enough that He could escape into the caves, leaving Natalia out there alone.

"Are you okay?" Raven asked Amy.
Ryan looked back before he really got there, checking to make sure Natalia would be able to get away.

Natalia still had quite a bit of distance between herself and Skye, but all of her focus was on keeping it that way, and keeping Skye fighting her metallic swarm instead of going around it. She was only barely managing to back up.

[Raven]

"Fuck," Ryan muttered, on the fence as to whether any attempt to help would just put her in more danger. How had this even happened?

[Gifted]

"Yeah." Amy said. "Just... I can't believe that was Skye. Little Skye."
As he watched, Natalia began to slowly back away while she harassed Skye with the swarm. She impressively seemed to be able to keep up with Skye's pace, for now. But she was quickly tiring herself out. As Ryan watched, he saw Natalia get in a lucky shot and his Skye with two needles in the face, causing the girl to recoil. Natalia took the chance and sprinted as fast as she could towards the cliffs.

Ryan took several steps out to make sure she would be able to get far enough, then he hurried with her back to the caves.

When Natalia made it into hiding in the caves, she collapsed to her knees and breathing heavily. She was shaking from exhaustion from pushing herself to keep up with someone with literal super speed.

Skye saw that they had vanished into the labyrinth of caves that made up the nearby mountain and knew she would not find them. So she turned and headed back inside. She was too far away from them to be able to see the terror that crossed her expression or the tears and shaking that began as soon as her adrenaline died down. Terrified and eternally grateful she'd gotten that lucky, she retreated to her fortress of a city.
