"If we look at the surrounding area around the city, we might be able to find an area close enough that's sheltered enough we can make our getaway," Raven suggested.

The cliff ran along one side of the area and far beyond the city. As they followed the natural barricade of the cliffs they found very little in the way of cover that wasn't itself part of the cliffs. At best they found a few larger bushes closer to the city that could be used as cover to creep up on them but would not be a safe place to retreat to.
The city was in a valley, but on Amy and Raven't side it was much more accessible, with hills instead of cliffs. However, this side also had much more obvious signs of fights. There were a few craters that had never been filled in, and lots of twisted and broken bushes and plants. Old vines and craters from previous battles made for somewhat sturdier cover.
