Jade was in the middle of teaching her class, but Kenny only had to show up at the door for her to direct her class to the problems she'd written on the board and come out to see what he wanted. "Yeah? What's up?" She asked.

[Raven]

"I just got a phone call from someone saying his name was Rook," Kenny said. "He said he'd escaped, that he was in Charlottesville."

[Gifted]

"Rook escaped?" Jade's eyes widened. He was even alive? They were clever kids who were good with their powers, sure, but Jade hadn't actually expected that they'd have the power to stage a breakout.

[Raven]

"That's what he said. We don't know for sure if it's really him, or if it isn't a trap, but he sounded scared, and if it is him, and if he really has broken out, I think you being there to help bring him home would help a lot," Kenny said.

[Gifted]

Jade nodded. "Tell me what I've got to do. I'll bring him back." Jade agreed. "He has to have gone through some tough shit already."

[Raven]

"One of Xander's people - do you remember Awhina? She was one of ours for a while, but I think that was when you were a student - is coming to pick you up, she'll drive you to Charlottesville. Olivia is heading straight there so she can help protect him if any agents show up," Kenny said.

[Gifted]

"Alright. When's Awhina getting here?" Jade said. "You and I need to go over my lesson plans for when I'll be gone."

[Raven]

"She'll be here as soon as possible, so let's get started," Kenny said.

[Gifted]

"Alright, I'll dismiss the current class. Give me a moment." Jade went back in the room and let the kids out early, which of course got some excited cheers from the kids who weren't fans of math. Jade ignored them, and used the extra time to go over where she was with each one of her classes with Kenny.

[Raven]

Kenny grinned at the excitement from the students and took careful note of what she was teaching each class. "Alright. I think I've got it," he said as they finished. "Go get your stuff together before Awhina gets here."

[Gifted]

Jade nodded. "Right. I'll be outside pretty quick." Jade ran to her room, and was outside with three decks of cards in a half an hour.

[Raven]

Kenny stepped outside shortly after that, having informed Mrs. Harris and Sangria what was going on. "Good luck, Jade," he said. "I hope we can bring him home."

"I won't stop until we figure out what the hell's going on." Jade nodded. When Awhina pulled up, Jade got into the truck with hardly a hello. "Let's go."

It was almost a week - a very tense week - before the truck came back to the the school. Xander called Kenny about a half hour ahead of time. "Heads up, Awhina says she's almost back."

"Did she say how it went?" Kenny asked.

[Gifted]

"No, she just said to let you know that they'd be there soon."
