So You Wanna Be a Hero, Kid?

[Raven]

"Alright," Cassie said, grabbing her own gear.
"Since this is a kill or capture, do we get anything to restrain them with?" Ryan asked.

[Gifted]

"Technically all missions are kill or capture." Xander said. "But yeah, I brought you something. Check that box." He pointed to a box on the bottom of one of the shelves. Stephanie quickly pulled it out. "Handcuffs!" She grinned, holding up a pair.

[Raven]

"Kinky," Ryan supplied, holding his hand out for one of the handcuffs. Cassie rolled her eyes, grabbing another set.
"I'm not so sure every mission can be kill or capture," Ryan added. "I'm pretty sure there's no way we're bringing Danielle into prison."

[Gifted]

"That's what the 'or' is for. Capture would be nice, but no ones going to complain when she dies." Xander said, not wanting to admit he would in fact grieve.

[Raven]

Ryan shrugged, as that had been the opposite of his point. "Alright. We need to watch each others backs, make sure you're aware of everything going on so no one can sneak up on you," he said.

[Gifted]

Stephanie nodded. "Xander seems to be putting a lot of emphasis on location this time." She noted. "So there must be something about this location we'll have to plan around. Obviously the roof makes my powers impractical, but I don't know if that's all..."

[Raven]

"I really doubt we'll want to catch all this on fire," Awhina pointed out. "This is a tight space, like what we were dealing with in Madrid."

[Gifted]

"Hey, yeah!" Stephanie agreed. "Actually this would be even worse. Theres no way for the smoke to escape with a roof over our heads,it would all just hang in here."
"But if your power is useless and awhina's power is useless, are we just going in no powers?" Jason asked.
"Awhina's power isn't entirely useless, especially if she can put the fire out." Stephanie corrected. "She just needs to be really careful."

[Raven]

"And in tight quarters, you'll have to be careful as well," Ryan added to Jason.
"Stephanie, you should figure out what you can do indoors," Cassie said.

[Gifted]

"I'm not sure I can do much of anything indoors." Stephanie admitted. "Um, gathering condensation to make clouds should be the same, and I might be able to make like...wind, or something..."
Jason nodded. "I'll be careful. But man, that's a lot of stuff we can't do just because theres a roof over our heads."

[Raven]

"No kidding," Ryan agreed. He checked over his things one last time and straightened up. "I think we should keep in teams - Cassie can move on her own, since she's able to go through walls and we can't actually follow her, but trying to make her stick with one of us might put her in more danger."

[Gifted]

"Alright, sounds good." Stephanie said. "Who's going with whom, then? Anyone have a preference?"

[Raven]

"Stephanie and Ryan should go together, along with Jason and Awhina," Cassie suggested, since she figured Stephanie was the most useless right now, and Ryan the least useless.

[Gifted]

"I dunno." Jason said. "Awhina and I can change positioning, I think we shouldn't be with each other."
"Positioning?" Stephanie asked, confused.
"Yeah, like on a basketball court. Just, something Stephanie said made me think of it." Jason said. "Like, in a play in basketball, the team on offense is trying to get the ball in the hoop, they're on the side with the advantage. They're going to have certain formations and plays set up right? And us, we're on defense, we need to stop them from progressing and get ourselves between them and get the ball away. You try to body block and try to make a barrier so the ball cant be passed to one of the other players and they can't move up the court, but if you set up a small fire in front of someone, that's just as effective at stopping the play, isn't it? As long as Awhina can put it out afterwards. And my power is kind of made for that sort of blocking."

[Raven]

"Can you put it out afterwards?" Cassie asked, her tone a bit harder than necessary.
Awhina shot her a look. "I've been working on it, I'll have an advantage putting out a fire because it can't burn me."
