"That's not the point!" Erica laughed.

"It so is," Amy responded. "We could conquer the planet with these extra few hours at our disposal."

"Yeah but we should have warned him last night if we were going to wake him up early this morning, it isn't fair to do it now."

"Oh, alright," Amy agreed. "Maybe we can look for berries or something."

"Sure, maybe." Erica was wondering why on earth they would want berries.

Amy glanced at her after a moment. "Haven't you ever used berries before?"

"No? I don't know what you're on about."

Amy looked positively baffled. "Certain kinds of berries have strong affects, some can heal status effects or health," she said. "You can find them out in the woods instead of spending more than 200 pokeyen on a status heal."

"Oh, really? Huh, didn't know." Erica shrugged, not finding it a particularly big deal.

"Amy, we spend our time jumping from city to city to city. We're hardly ever out of reach of a pokemon center for more than a day. Very few status effects end up being huge, pressing issues, because by the time you absolutely have to cure one in battle the pokemon is too weak to make a difference anyway and it's usually better to just pull them out of battle until the next pokemon center. I keep one or two status effect healers in case of extreme distance from civilization or absolute emergency and more often than not those stay unused in my bag. I really don't feel like I have a pressing need for more or that it's been a huge detriment to me that I didn't now I could get more easily earlier." She shrugged.

"They can also temporarily increase stats, and increase resistances," Amy said.

"Really?" Erica raised an eyebrow, actually interested this time.

"Yup," Amy said. "And pokemon can use them in battle without prompting, and without giving up their turn."

"Alright, I guess I'm interested. Let's see if we can find anything then."
