Amelia was leaving her home for what would surely be a long time, and while she wasn't exactly sad about it, she was nervous. Cherrygrove was all she'd ever known, and she didn't have much knowledge about anywhere else. She wasn't sure she was ready yet. Her eyes scanned the trail.

Erica Methodess was making her way through up the trail, looking for any new wild pokemon. She was almost up at the city when she saw another trainer. "Hey! You a pokemon trainer?" She asked with a grin. "How long've you been training?" She'd get no value out of battling a newbie, but she wanted to find someone to test her skill on.

Her current Pokemon? Amelia wondered, but then blinked and smiled. "Sure." She hoped this girl didn't have a fire type, that would be a disaster. "Let's move out of the way," she decided, and backed up before pulling out her pokeball.

"Sounds like a plan to me." She agreed, pulling hers as well. "Alright, let's go! Come on out, Spike!" She tossed her pokeball and the beedrill burst forth, buzzing aggressively.

A third stage? She hadn't been expecting that, and flying want good either. She could only do her best... "Arcada," she said, throwing her pokeball as well. The spinarak clicked its mandibles.

"Another bug, eh?" Erica grinned, taking out her pokedex to see what kind of bug that could be. Nevertheless, it looked like a bug, so bug type moves probably weren't the smartest of ideas. "Alright, then Spike, Fury Attack!"

"Thanks. It's not to my credit really though, I just got lucky because Weedles evolve fast. Your spinarak was pretty good too." She grinned at her pokemon "Good job, Spike." She returned him to his pokeball. "You know anything about the gym around here?"

"Yes." Amelia pointed. "It's fairy type, run by Tristan Briar... She's pretty tough, but with a poison type like beedrill you'll have a good chance." She hadn't had the courage to challenge her oldest sister yet.

"Really? Fairy type, eh? Maybe I'll challenge it sooner than I was planning." She smirked. It'd be a huge boost to be able to get a badge already. But was she strong enough? She'd made quick work of that Spinarak, but still, to challenge a gym leader already with just Spike...
