"Why would I believe you?" Kailen demanded. Then he went back to looking for a way out that didn't involve the remote.

Once he finally managed to find a away past all the shelves he came to a doorway hidden in the back. Behind it was darkness andflickering candle light in a room as small as a closet.
It was a shrine. Candles were lit in a circle on the floor around a large picture with an ornate golden frame.
Near he bottom was a man only a couple years older than Stephanie, slightly shorter than average with blonde hair and blue eyes. Above them was a pair of others that could only be Stephanie's parents, considering the uncanny resemblance. Stephanie's mother was far hotter than anyone over 40 had any right to look, and it was not a mystery how everyone in her family ended up attractive. Her dad looked like the sort to frequent those shady bards, with a black cloak on and a wicked smirk on his face. And at the top of the frame was a man who looked almost identical to Kailens dad and a silhouette of a man whose outline had not been filled.

"What the hell?" Kailen questioned to the air. He felt more than a little disturbed, but curiosity got the best of him and he came forward to see if he could figure out who the silhouette was supposed to be. The young man was probably Stephanie's cousin, and he could easily identify Kenny, but he found it a little strange that there was such a lack of women besides Stephanie's mother. He picked up the frame to investigate, looking for any hint he might be able to figure out who the missing man was.

The moment the frame was moved from its place, there was a click and a panel slid open, revealing a large hallway with a boarded-up door at the end.

[Raven]

"... Oh." Well that was convenient. Kailen tossed the picture and headed down the hallway towards the door.

[Gifted]

"I wouldn't touch that door if I were you." A female voice spoke from behind him almost as soon as hestepped nto the hall. None other than Stephanie's mother herself was standing behind him.

[Raven]

Kailen tried very hard not to let his panic show. How was she here? "And what if I do?"

[Gifted]

"Well, I'm fairly sure you're aware we're gifteds too." Jade replied, pulling out her deck of cards. "And we're not worried about the police finding your body."

[Raven]

"You can't hurt me here, we're in Stephanie's mind," Kailen said. He wasn't sure that was true, but he wasn't about to give up. What did he have to live for anyway?

[Gifted]

"Yeah, and Stephanie wants that door to remain locked." Stephanie's dad was between him and the door now. "So her mind has summoned it's greatest defenders."

[Raven]

"Yeah, whatever." Kailen walked around him towards the door.

[Gifted]

Jade threw a card at him and it hit his back before exploding.

[Raven]

Kailen cried out in pain as he was thrown forward by the force of the blast. Shit, this was not going to be easy. Kailen got to his feet and quickly threw a punch at Cody.

[Gifted]

Cody disappeared upon contact with his fist and was suddenly standing to Kailen's right. He laughed. "Little lady never told you what our powers were, did she?"

[Raven]

Kailen turned his head and started backing away. "Doesn't matter, I'll still win."
