Nicholas turned his charm up as far as it would go, which would make this kiss give her sparks, and get her addicted to his touch. He pulled away. "Thank you Nikola. You should go before they miss you."

Julian had turned on the limiter that would protect her from his power, none too soon for her. For him, though, it was another story. She slapped him, angry and flustered. "I'm your niece's step daughter," she hissed.

"Good luck in the arena," Nikola answered, spitefully. At least when she entered Anya's room, she didn't feel so bad for it. She put the tray of food on the little wooden nightstand, and waited.
"You're welcome. I would eat quickly, someone will be along to bring you to the arena shortly," Conner said. "Good luck." He left the room, and went to Olivia's room to deliver the meal and explain the same thing.

Olivia's eyes narrowed and she was standing up when Connor appeared. When he opened the door to come inside she tried to use her super speed to make a break for it.

Conner pushed her back onto the bed that was in the room, after her power failed to work. He shut the door. "You really think we wouldn't have precautions for that? We're not going to lose you after all the trouble we've gone through to get you here and ready," he said, glaring. "You're damn lucky I didn't spill your food. I'm not about to get you more."

Anya didn't move. Not one single bit, didn't even breathe. Just stared at the floor, eyes red from sobbing until she couldn't even do that any more.
