Vladimir again nodded. "Without hesitation."

"Thank you, Vladimir." Julian turned off the camera. Next was Lucille. "Tell us about yourself."

"My name's Lucille and I control music and sound itself." Lucille said, sitting casually, not quite man, not quite woman, but beautiful nonetheless.

"Can you fight, Lucille?"

Lucille shrugged. "Dunno. My friends, I guess."

"I guess. I mean, I've done worse for less," Lucille mused.

Julian turned off the camera and moved on to Katrina.
"Miss Everette, could you tell us about yourself?" Katrina had her arms wrapped around herself and she looked more terrified than most of the other contestants had been. "I-I... I'm a doctor," she whispered. "I can heal people faster than they can heal themselves by using my own energy..." A strangled choking noise came from her as she tried to hold back tears. "I'm engaged..." She moved her hand out to look at her own ring. "His name is Zach. He'll wonder where I am. I wish I could tell him I'm okay. If I would have had time, I would have left him a note."
"To try to get him to come save you?" Julian sounded bemused at the idea. Katrina looked, and sounded, shocked. "No, of course not. I wouldn't put him in danger like that. I... I would have told him that things weren't working out, and left him my ring. It would have hurt him, but maybe he would have moved on..." Her voice faded to a whisper the longer she talked, but then she frowned and raised her voice, though it was still not much louder than it had been when she first started talking. Now she tried to sound confident, though a spark of fear in her eyes still gave away her worry, if they noticed it. "Now I'll just have to win." She said that, but could she? If they were people that she could physically fight, they would have to be her size, and no better at it than herself. Another thought struck her - surely they wouldn't be cruel enough to put children in this fight? She couldn't bring herself to kill children. She wasn't sure she could bring herself to kill anyone.
Then she realized Julian was talking. "Sorry, what?" Julian sounded annoyed as he repeated himself. "Can you fight?" "Zach taught me a bit. I can use a knife, and I've taken self defense classes..." She highly doubted that everyone was as physically weak as she was in this game.
"Can you kill?" "Yes," Katrina answered, a little too quickly.
The screen went dark.

Francis appeared up next. "A fighting game? I wonder how carefully you actually chose your opponents. If you wanted them all on my level, you must have spent a long time looking - or you don't know very much about the people you kidnapped. I knew there was something off about that woman. I'd seen her trailing me for a good week. I was extra good that week, so unless you also managed to get into my documents, I think you bit off a little more than you bargained for. Not a problem if you don't intend to give me a challenge."
"Why is that?" Julian asked. Francis smirked. "I'm a sociopathic mercenary. I've got a power of super sight, which may not sound like much, except I can hit most things at a reasonable distance with an average sniper rifle without the scope. I usually use a bow and arrow - which means I have the muscle to do so. And it means I notice sneak attacks. Knowing that they actually are attacks and not just little girls who might be interested in sleeping with me will definitely help my response time. I won't get distracted by people's deaths, and I won't hesitate to kill. After all, why would I now? I rather like living, and I'm not going to give it up for anyone. Not willingly, at any rate."
"So there's no one you would die for?" "That's a stupid question. Sociopath. No one is as important to me as myself."
Julian sounded amused. "Not even the girl you were living with?" "Elizavetta? Why, did you decide to take her too? Either you don't have any intention to make this game even or that was your stupid attempt to bring me down to everyone else's level. I wouldn't mind getting out with her, but I'm not about to die for her."

The screen went dark, and when it came back up Eryk was sitting in front of the camera. "Hello, Mr. Jashin. Could you tell us about yourself?"

Eryk smiled a charming smile. "I am Eryk, twenty seven years old and onetime ruler of a small country off the coast of Queensland. That got quite tedious after a small revolt so I quit and now teach self-defense classes and stalk my former lover." He said, this whole thing appearing to be something he did on a regular basis.
"I am quite capable with any weapons fate chooses to send me, or I have ways of crafting my own from supplies or people."
