Time Travel - Fixing the Future

"One of the identities I was juggling was a detective from another state. I'm going to tell them I'm a cop." She put the jacket on. "God, I wish I had makeup... eh good enough. Now listen; If it's a civilian, he'll either shoot or direct me towards the person he's shooting at. If he does the second one, stay here. If he uses my distraction to run call the cops and describe what he looks like, then come find me. Wish me luck." She ran down the alley and around the corner, one hand on her hip as though she were about to pull a gun, one hand pulling out her still-off (though the man brandishing the gun wouldn't know that) cell phone as though she were about to call for backup. "Freeze!"

Fuck. He couldn't get caught like this, especially so soon after the incident with his family. Red's eyes flicked to the woman and he raised his hands, the gun still in his right hand, but his finger off the trigger and it not aiming at her. "I was just trying to get home when this man attacked me. I managed to pull my gun, but he ran off with my wallet," he explained. He didn't want to have to give an ID or a weapon's permit - especially since he didn't have one of them.

"Stay right there, sir." Stephanie ordered, and passed him while speaking into her phone. "Officer Dwight? This is Detective Stouse. We've got a robbery in progress on Dover Street. Shots have been fired, I repeat, shots have been fired. I need backup." Stephanie passed him and disappeared from view as she ran off.

Red's finger went back to the trigger and he backed away from where she'd gone off to, turning once she was out of sight and checking for her partner. He didn't see anyone and he quickly left the area. Kailen immediately called 911, coming after Stephanie as he did so.
"911, what's your emergency?"
"I just heard gunshots near Dover street and thirty-second. I saw someone fleeing the scene with a gun. He had shaggy black hair, a bit of a goatee, and sunken eyes. He looked like he was in his late thirties or early forties. He was wearing dark blue jeans and a long-sleeved black shirt without a design. He was headed north."

When Kailen caught up to Stephanie, he saw her kneeling next to a man who'd collapsed on the pavement and sustained two bullet wounds to the chest.
"It's okay, you'll be fine, just breathe, I'll call an ambulance." Stephanie was saying, fumbling with her old cell phone and trying to turn it back on.
"D-don't... don't bother..." The man choked out. He was probably in his early 20's at most. "It.... th-they won't help me..."

[Raven]

"There's a man here with two bullet wounds to the chest. Dover and thirty-third. He doesn't seem to be in good condition." Kailen pulled the phone from his ear to frown at the man when he heard him. "Of course they'll help you," Kailen objected. "How could they not help you?"

[Gifted]

"I...I d-don't exist in this time... I h-have o records... Stephanie... Kailen..."
"What? How do you know my name? I am like 99% sure I've never met you." Stephanie said, eyes wide. "And what do you mean you have no record?"

[Raven]

Kailen hung up on the 911 operator right then. "Who are you?" he asked. "How do you know us?"

[Gifted]

"I am from another time... I have seen everything that goes on in this time period multiple times..."
"Yeah, right!" Stephanie didn't believe a word of it.
"Your family consists... of Cody Clark, Jade Xavier-Clark, Kenny Clark, Mia Clark, Austin Clark and Rick Martinez, and you haven't spoken to any of them in w-weeks. When you came here you worked under your own identity as well as the names Detective Madison Stouse, Jessica Louise Foster and Alica Coles. Is that c-correct?"
Stephanie looked absolutely flabbergasted. She hadn't even told Kailen about her entire family, much less have anyone who wasn't family be able to list off her identities.

[Raven]

Kailen accepted it was probably a power. "Then why are you here?"

[Gifted]

"The world... it wasn't supposed to end like this. N-nothing has b-b-been resolved, h-history repeating itself, so many broken beyond any repair.. the end of the conflict was supposed to be good. Not this. I am trying to fix it.... to make the world a better place for everyone... you..." The man reached over to his hand where he was wearing five rings. One was a thicker red and silver band, while the others were thinner and yellow. As he pulled off the red ring, the yellow ones came sliding off with it and stuck together as though they were magnets. "These... these are the source of my ability... please. Take up my mission. Turn this place into the world it was meant to become."

[Raven]

"How?" Kailen asked, but he reached for the rings.

[Gifted]

"You must find and fix the catalysts. All of them." He replied. "But... Augh... I fear my time is running out. Turn the band on yourring and go back an hour... I will be on Cadwaller and will explain everything."

[Raven]

Kailen glanced at the ring, and slipped the bigger one onto his finger. He handed one to Stephanie. Even if he wasn't honest, it couldn't hurt to see, right? He glanced at Stephanie, his fingers on the ring.

Stephanie was confused, but she figured if Kailen would try it so would she. as she twisted the band on the ring, the date, time and location she was thinking of etched onto the band. In a blink of an eye she was gone.

They were on the exact street they'd been told to go, and the very man they'd just seen dying was staking out a large house, trying not to be seen.
