The Pandemic: Gifted vs. the Government

[Gifted]

"No silly, I am dieting and the only reason I ran away was to protect my mom and dad. I'm gifted, and if the government found out I was they would hurt my parents to get to me I didn't want them in harms way. I wasn't unhappy with them."

[Raven]

"You didn't eat in four days," Adam said. "That's not dieting."

[Gifted]

"Sure it is, I've lost a lot of weight like that too. I used to be really really fat. Now I'm only a little fat. If I keep in up, soon I'll be skinny and beautiful!"

[Raven]

"You were skinny a long time ago," Adam said, rolling his eyes.

[Gifted]

"No I wasn't. I was fat." Roseanne said. "It has to be perfect. And I'm almost there, I can feel it."

[Raven]

"You can feel starvation," Adam told her.

[Gifted]

Roseanne shook her head. "I eat carefully managed small portions twice a week. I won't starve. Celery is the best when you're dieting. Did you know digesting celery actually burns for calories than consuming it does? It's because it's like 99% water or something. I used to take vitamin supplements too, but I ran out of those. I know exactly what I'm doing."

[Raven]

"I eat four times a day and I'm not fat," Adam said. "You're starving."

[Gifted]

"I am not starving." Roseanne countered. "I'm dieting."

[Raven]

"Whatever. You can ask Mia to get some celery, whatever the fuck that is."

[Gifted]

"That's great but I still need a scale." Roseanne sighed.

[Raven]

Adam sighed. "You can ask her for one of those as well, she can take it out of my allowance."

[Gifted]

Roseanne brightened. "Thank you so much Adam."

[Raven]

"Sure thing, Roseanne. I want to make you happy, after all," Adam said.

[Gifted]

"And I want to stay with you." She agreed.
