Andrew looked down, scared. He really did think Pierce would follow through on the threat, but he doubted he'd kill Matt. But either way, someone was gona die. He began pushing JJ to the daycare.

Through the last hours more and more kids had been dropped off, the nine year old being the oldest there. She didn't understand how they couldn't take care of themselves while Matt was keeping an entire store. She sat down with a baby in her arms, drinking out of a bottle. She pushed her hair behind her ears with her free hand and continued feeding.

Once there, Pierce took JJ out of the cart. "Does anyone have a knife?" he asked of the children. He didn't expect much, but it was worth a shot.

Ashley heard the word knife as she stood up and looked at the teen and said "What are you asking?" She pushed the little kids away from him. "Go play," she then saw the boy in the cart. "What the he..ck happened?"

The grocery store came into Neil's view. There were two kids out front, both looking around his age. Rocky snorted, obviously not liking the situation, but Neil pushed him onward. The horse confidently strode through the parking lot, Neil keeping his hat down so they couldn't see his face.

Aura obviously saw the horse. She didn't much care. She was more worried about Matt shooting the kid. Once the horse got to a few yards in front of the store, it would run into an invisible wall.

The horse continued, making a distinctive clip-clop as he walked along. Something stopped him in his tracks, and Rocky reared, backed up, and neighed fiercely. Neil fell off, landing smartly on his elbow. Wincing through the pain, Neil quickly got back up, and tried to calm the spooked Rocky. Neil felt about the area in front of them with his foot, figuring there was a small animal, but instead there was a wall of invisible.
"... what the hell?" he said.
