Cicerone weaves slowly past the pictures.
Some of the pictures include, a snakeheaded cat, a blue orb, a spiny roselike plant, an eagle, a dog with bat wings, a brilliantly colored pastel rabbit and a large rowboat sized fish.
Cicerone pauses while passing the rabbit.
“Rebel? When did she end up here?” he says lowly in a sigh.

Nix sits on the bank on the opposite side.
“You see, you shouldn’t trust anyone...”
“Don’t listen to him! He’s trying to lead you astray.”
The high pitched voice comes from a tiny squirrel as it hops across the stones in the river.
Nix glares at it.
“Foul rodent, be gone. You are the one trying to lead her astray.”
“Foul foul.” The squirrel retorts.

Alexis extends a hand to the squirrel. "He says many things. I know that sitting here will do me no good, but neither will following his first advice and going to the waterfall. For either he is leading me astray and it is a trap, or he is telling the truth and I should trust no one, and he cannot be trusted. So, you see, I know he is. What have you to say?"

The squirrel hops onto her hand.
“The waterfall is where ‘it’ lives.”
It glares at the horizon.
“He is trying to feed it.” it says harshly, then points at Nix.
