"That depends on why you're limping." 0666 hadn't looked at him since they started walking.

"I miscalculated a jump and missed, the first time in as long as I can remember. If my training starts as soon as I arrived I could attempt to slowly administer a numbing poison to myself to ease off the pain though"

"That would be counterproductive. You will be given proper treatment."

"Well at least they care that much... I should be able to get started on my training soon enough though, it should just be a sprain or something else minor."

"Oh yes, it's tottally neccessary to ruin someones life before they join the guard. It's only done so they won't say no, and it works well, too."
"We were goofing off and were out past curfew," Rick said, his throat tight with anger. "And that hardly means you have to kill anyone who refuses!" "Yeah and whats with all the secrecy about recruiting in the first place?" Jared asked. He didnt sound angry like Rick did, just confused. "I mean, everyone wants to be in the guard, so, whats the big idea? Let people send in applications and screen the applicants like everyone else does," Jared shrugged. Rick facepalmed. Jared was so clueless sometimes.

0666 didn't respond. He led Atropine into a concealed tunnel and finally into the Guard's underground fortress. "Your training will begin immediately, starting with the memorization of the civilians. 0666, you're excused," said a female as she walked towards them. She wore a mask much like the ones of the others. 0666 nodded and left. "Stand straight," the woman ordered Atropine.
"We aren't behind everything, even if you think so," 3952 said. "Either way, Rick and Jared need to be getting inside."

Atropine did his best, though his pain made him nearly fall over placing his hands on his slightly exposed ankle, despite what he was told he again administered his toxin, a low dose so that he could at least stand up straight. Wincing he followed her commands and stood as he was told and coughed, there was a little bit of blood. He knew that he couldn't keep this up he needed real medical help before he ended up killing himself.

"At least you know how to follow orders. Somewhat," the woman commented. "At least nothing's broken. The first aid center is there." She pointed to a door nearby.

Nodding Atropine went to where he was directed to, limping slightly to the center and walking inside.

The woman stuck a note to his shoulder as he passed. The girl in first-aid smiled up at him. "Hello." Unlike the others, she was mask-free. "You should sit down."

Atropine listened obediently and sat down as he was told, slightly glancing around.

"My name's Katrina," she offered, pulling the note off his shoulder and smiling slightly. She tossed it in a bin. Then she pressed lightly on the side of Atropine's ankle. "Does this hurt? And more importantly, can you tell if it would if you hadn't numbed it?"

"It does hurt still and even more so before I treated it...are you a healer? If so you may want to remove the toxin from my blood after you treat the ankle... My poison isn't exactly meant to be inside of my bloodstream... You seem a bit different then the other people around here."

"Yes, I am, and that's why I'm different. I never have and never will go through the training they have and you will. As for the toxin, I'll be removing that first." She smirked. "And if you whine at me about it, I will remind you that you did this to yourself." She stood and went to a shelf where she kept a few medical tools.

"I took the risk when I did it, all I know is that I need to get through this training and make a name for myself, it may be impossible but I'm not going to stop crawling to the top, I'm going to change this place or die trying." He prepared himself for whatever was about to come.
