Lizzie leaped up and ran over. "It's so cuuuuuuute!" she squealed. "And his name is Punimon? Oh..." Her eyes widened, then narrowed. She stood there, glaring at Kage.

Kage recoiled when Lizzie screamed, as if he expected her to glomp him and Punimon. The glare made him even more confused. "What?" he asked, "What'd I do?"
"I'm not cute, I'm squishy!" Punimon protested.

"You can't steal him, he's my friend!" Kage stood up defiantly, letting his skateboard fall to the ground. He held Punimon against his chest protectively. Punimon poked his head out of Kage's arms in time to see the hat yawn. He furrowed his nonexistent brow.

"The first one, yes," Lizzie answered. "But I don't steal, especially from someone who would probably be dumb enough to give whatever we wanted to us." She smirked.

Kage sat back down on the merry-go-round, letting Punimon slide out of his grasp and onto his lap. "I'm not dumb," protested Kage, "What do you mean keep me, anyway?"
"Be glad you're not me," grumbled Punimon, "I have to keep him, no matter what."

Lizzie smiled at Punimon. "Well it can't be impossible to get along with him. I don't know how people do it, but some people actually like him." She turned and unzipped her backpack. "This is Botamon," she introduced as the digimon hopped out. "I mean keep you, because the way this is turning out, it looks like we're going to have to all stick together."

Kage didn't understand why Lizzie was being so snide. "Botamon looks like a pile of soot," he commented, "but he's cute. I thought I was the only one that knew one of these monsters." He looked up at the teenager, and figured he must have one, too. "So, because I met Punimon, am I now involved in some sort of trans-dimensional prophecy that must keep us all together?"
"Apparently," mused Punimon, frowning.
"But I don't want to be together with a girl!" whined Kage.

Punimon snickered at Kage's yelp of pain after being punched. "I didn't do anything!" he groaned when Alex tried to mediate, "She punched me, though, so can't I punch back? Please? Just this once?"
"You're not supposed to hit girls, y'know," Punimon taunted.
