Lily shook her head slightly, although you couldn't tell whether it was an answer to his question or she was trying to clear her head. She glanced back up.
"You should find somewhere to stay for the night," she told him, debating whether or not she should offer to take him with her.

He shakes his head, not to say no but to clear his mind of the strangeness of it all.
Suddenly he hears a crash; he perks his ears and turns to the sound. It's far to low and distant for a human to hear, but he hears it clear as day. The sound came from behind, a few blocks away. He focuses his eyes down the ally and sees it. A ghastly looking creature.
"A Blade Runner..." he thinks sharply.
The creature looks to him, he can see it clearly even though it’s about two blocks away, and the creature sees him and the girl. It lets out a sharp shrill cry easily heard by anyone within a mile, before running towards them. Vincent takes a step back towards the girl.
"This is bad." he thinks quickly.
Without time to explain he turns and runs past Lily, he stops to signal her to follow him, and then points down the ally panicky flailing his other arm.

Lily's eyes widened as she realised that that... thing had found them. Lily sprinted over to Vincent and, glancing into the alley, continued down it.
It was already lucky for her that Rose hadn't visited yet... Hopefully that luck hadn't run out yet...

Vincent quickly leads the way down the ally, eventually they come across a fire escape.
He points up to show, "Climb."
Glancing down the ally he sees the Blade Runner is closing in fast. It was then he decided he would fight to protect the girl, instead of running away as he would normally. However he hoped he wouldn't have to. He is careful to keep his sunglasses on to hide his eyes, he didn't want her to know, not yet.

Lily hurriedly scrambled up the fire escape. Not thinking about Vincent's being mute, she gasped, "Where does this lead?"
When she reached the top, she held her hand out to help him up.

The Blade Runner jumps at Vincent, but he dodges by jumping up onto the ladder. Panicked slightly he quickly climbs. He takes Lily's hand and gets up on the ledge. Looking down he sees a very angry Blade Runner. It squeals before leaving.
He sighs, he looks to Lily and writes "Are you ok?" then hands her the paper.
He looks to the side and sees a closed window, unable to open it he motions for Lily to stay back, then kicks the window easily breaking it. he jumps inside and takes a quick look around then motions "It's safe to come in".

"Yeah, I'm fine," she said, slowly making her way to her feet. She followed Vincent through the window in silence, squinted as her eyes adjusted to the dullness.
When they did, she couldn't help shuffling behind Vincent nervously. She didn't know what she'd do when Rose turned up...
01372 was on his feet the moment the window broke. Upon hearing a girl's voice, he stopped. With a smirk, he placed his blade on the ground and lingered in the shadows, waiting to greet the newcomers.

Vincent didn't know why, but he sensed impending dread. Assuming is was from the close call he ignores it. He nods happily to show he's glad she's ok.
"That was to close." he thinks with a sigh, it's then he notices something.
While passing through the room he picks up a sent. This makes him nervous as it neither his or the girl's. He turns back to the girl, considering that he should get them out of the room ASAP.

"Is there something wrong?" Lily asks, rubbing her forehead.
01372 decided that he could take them both. He shuffled over to where he guessed his other knife was and, finding it, picked it up. Then, with a flick of his wrist, sent it slicing through the air towards to trespassers.

Vincent hears the knife slice the air, but doesn't know what it is, so he fails to dodge. That’s when it hit him, literally. The knife strikes him in the back and through his heart. The shock causes him to fall over. He curls into a ball and lies still.
"W-what in the?" he thinks panicked. The fall had caused his sunglasses to fly off, but he tightly shut his eyes, so they still couldn't be seen. He remains still, to confused to react.

Lily squeaked slightly. "A-are you okay?" she mumbled. Then, seeing that the knife had pierced his back, and she wouldn't have been surprised if he had been killed then and there, she stumbled towards the window to climb out.
01372 grabbed his blade, smiling ever so slightly. "Not so fast, sweetheart," he said lowly, giving Lily chills.

"It's a knife?" he thinks shocked by the conclusion.
Vincent hears the man's voice. He remains still knowing that the man was not in a good location for attack by where the sound came from. He cracks his eyes open just enough to see a blurred picture.
"Walk past me you knife flinging freak..." he thinks coldly, after hearing what he said to the girl.

Lily ignored the man, still struggling to get out of the window in her haste.
01372 walked towards her slowly, enjoying himself. He brushed crimson hair from his eyes and let the blade hang lazily from his fingers. The hair fell right back into place over his right eye.

Vincent waited until the man passed by enough so he wouldn't notice him move. As soon as that distance is reached he gets up quickly, as if noting had happened. Glaring with his death blued eyes slightly glowing from the lighting; he slowly creeps up behind the man. Then casually taps on his shoulder, and heavily breathes for a fright effect. Continuing to glare at him unblinking, he waits until the man turns and reacts however he does. Then grabs him by the throat and pins him to the wall.

01372 had turned and a flash of surprise had passed over his face before Vincent had pinned him to the wall.
Lily stared from the window before losing her balance and falling outside.
The serial killer thrashed against the man attempting to stab him again with the jagged blade in his hand.
