Xander nodded, not really paying attention to that at the moment. "We'll need them to think we're all still gathered at the fire site. We could hide around the center of town.. use Pierce's darkness for a visibility advantage... when they pass us we get behind them and take them out. Second wave is in danger tho0ugh, I should get them out ofthe building, we cant stop the government from destroying the place now," he muttered to himself as they passed the houses that the second wave had hid in.

Joan leaned out the window. "Hangman!" she called. "Whats going on? Change of plan?"

CR-S01 was glad she'd leaned out the window. That'd make her an easier shot.

Ryan stuck his bloody face out so he could see them, wondering the same thing as Joan.

Tabitha frowned. She crouched, out of sight, listening to what they were saying.

He might see it again, Raven warned Xander.

Luke had finally escaped the burning trees, the rest of the team following after him. He was coughing worse than anyone else there, mostly because he had been talking more than the others combined. "This way," he rasped, leading them farther from the flames and the smoke.

well what do you expect me to do? Xander asked angrily.

Raven frowned. What are you doing? she asked CR-S01.

Well, crap! Now he'd have to shoot the mind reader too. No problem, he had an excuse ready for everyone else. What does it look like? was his reply to her question. Agent Carlson told me everythibng. He aimed the gun at the window, his eye peering through the scope. Joan hadn't noticed yet. She was waiting for Xander to awnser.

"yeah. The whole wave thing didn't work, they're heading to the other side of town to attack. So we're heading to town square. Get down, you're only gonna be in danger up there," Xander replied.

He told you everything about what? Raven asked, bewildered. Joan! Move fast, before you get shot!

Why you guys are being hunted. Nobody knew, so I asked. He thought, and shot before swviling around to shoot raven. After firing the two shots he Fell to the ground, his hands shaking violently and his face screwed up as if he were in pain.
Xander turned when he heard the first shot. "What the heck... Kid!" He saw CR-S01 on the ground with the gun next to him.
"That... voodo.. girl..." CR-S01 forced the words through his teeth. "She must be.. working for t-t-them. I c-can't control it," He grabbwed the gun with his left hand, quick as lightning, and shot into the group before grabbing his left hand with his right wrist and forcing the gun to point downward. He was still shaking violently.

Joan, having been informed in time, did not get the fatal shot CR-S01 had intended but got the bullet in her shoulder when she turn sideways to present a smaller target.

Raven's eyes widened as she was shot. She was dead before she hit the ground. ((Go instant mastery!))

Tabitha couldn't hear him, but when the gunshots rang out, she poked her head out.

(( didn't actually expect to kill her, since she coulda read his mind and saw it coming))

Xander, not realising Raven had died instantly, hollered. "Eloise, Olive, you may be able to save her in you work fast! When your done that go help Joan! And someone needs to capture Tabitha! I'm going to grab the kid's guns so Tabitha cant use him to shoot at us anymore!" Xander ran over to CR-S01, who fired again, narrowly missing Xander and hitting Pierce in the leg. After a brief struggle, Xander got the rifle away from him and pinned CR-S01's arms behind his back so he couldn't grab the pistols.

Eloise checked Ravens pulse. "Nothing we do will be any good," Eloise said. "She's gone." It reminded her of the last time she'd tried to heal someone beyond help. Ariel.
It had started when Supernova had charged her best yet. Eloise and Emric had been keeping Hangmans people busy while Ariel charged. "Let er rip Ariel!" Emric had yelled.
Xanderss three had looked at ariel, but too late. for all but one of them.
Sharie, panicking, used her nearly invisible whip before Ariel blew. it cracked across Ariels neck, leaving a deep gash that began to gush blood. Ariel fell backwards and hit the forest floor with a mudane finality.
Emric had frozen in shock, as had all three of Xanders people, including Sharie. Eloise teleported over to ariel, who's body was no longer glowing. "No Ariel! Hang in there!" She'd cried, placing her hand roughly over the gash in Ariel's neck. Ariels eyes flicked once towards Eloise, and then rolled back in her head. "NO! Supernova!" eloise cried, the gash in Ariels neck completley healed. She grabbed Ariels hand and checked for a pulse. nothing.

The silence broke. "Sharie!" Olive cried.
"I was panicking, okay?" Sharie cried.
"Xanders gonna be pissed..."
"Let's get him. Him n Ex must be done by now," Adrian said, and the three bolted.

Now, Eloise looked into the dead eyes of Raven, knowing there was nothing she could do. But she still wanted to do SOMETHING.
"You take Pierce, I'll take Joan?" Olive asked, seeming to know how she felt. Eloise nodded, the words caught in her throat.

[Raven]

((She couldn't duck too fast and he moved too quickly))
"I'm not doing anything. I don't even have the guy's DNA!" Tabitha cried, picking up what Xander had said. "He's the traitor!" She didn't make any move to run. It would be pointless and only convince them she was a traitor... Why did CR-S01 have to pick her? Now she'd have to turn against the one who was actually on her team. Her tone was indignant.

((CR-S01 had to pick her because she's the only one he could possibly blame it on))
When Tabithadrew attention to herself and CR-S01 reralised she was looking out the window, his haking stopped. He blinked a couple of times. "It's gone," he said, surprised.
Xander, distracted for a second, looked at him. Xander released him and he stood up, flexing his fingers and looking at his hands as if to make sure he was really in control of his own body again. "Someone else shoot her," he said. "I don't want her using my talents against you again."

Olive was already in Joans building, digging the bullet out of her skin while joan winced in pain. Olive couldn't heal the bullet inside the body

"I didn't do it!" Tabitha insisted. "He's acting!"

They completley ignored her. Only Joan took notice.
Xander, has it ever occured to you that there may be someone in the government with the same power as Tabitha. This could be their idea of a surprise attack, they could be dividing us among ourselves, it could be anything really," She shrugged. "Of course the guy would THINK it was Tabitha, because he wouldn't know who did it and would jump to the obvious, and so far only, conclusion. But that doesn't mean he''s right,"
Xander frowned. "I GUESS so..." he sighed. "All right, both of you get your asses down here, or the government may just set you on fire,"

Tabitha nodded and turned back to go down the stairs. Her DNA samples in tubes in her pocket. The tubes were labeled, but it wasn't in English. It was in Japanese, and in code.

Joan went down as well, and Sharie had already come down. When Joan passed Tabitha she whispered. "If that was you and you try some stunt like that again, you'd better make sure I''m dead first." Before passing her without another word.
