Red walked her to a set of cupboards, then gave her a single pill. "Once you take that you're free to go. I'd like to check up on you next week, though. You can come to my dorm if you'd rather - it's diagonal from your friend's. Room 668. Otherwise, I'm in the office every day from 3 to 9am."

Red laughed. "Unfortunately not. I got stuck with the graveyard shift. If you show up towards the end of it, I can stay later. It's not so bad, though. Usually not too many people wandering in concerned about the red spot on their neck, and why would we guess that their boyfriend liked to kiss their neck?" Red rolled his eyes.

She returned to his room late in the evening the following week. She wasn't about to try to make his insane hours in the office, but she stayed up until around midnight before going, in hopes he would be awake and getting ready for work.
