[Gifted]

"Are all the subjects mandatory here?" He asked curiously. As if he didn't already know.

[Raven]

"No," Kenny answered. "We'll test you on basic comprehension got science, math, and English, as long as you have a decent understanding, you won't be required to take any of those classes. I also teach a psychology class which focuses on the tricks the government uses and how not to fall for them, which is elective for students who wish to take it. You'll be required to take all of the other classes we offer at least at first."

"A psychology class?" Rick was intrigued.

[Raven]

"Yes," Kenny agreed. "We'll sign you up for classes after I show you the school."

[Gifted]

Rick nodded. "Alright. Will I get to meet the other professors?" He asked eagerly.

[Raven]

"Yes, they're outside right now," Kenny answered. "There are five others." He led his way to the next room, which had smaller desks and stacks of books along the cupboards and desks. A large pile of fabric sat in the corner. "Mrs. Harris teaches English as well as the home ec classes."

"Oh, that could be useful. I had to steal this shirt out of a school lost and found box, my old one had too many holes and I didn't know how to fix it."

[Raven]

"Eventually things need replacing, but we can teach students how to make the most of what they have," Kenny agreed. "Across the hall, there is a bigger sewing room and the history room. My brother teaches history. All of the teachers offices are next to their classrooms, Ms. Viette also has an office up here." Kenny indicated one of the doors.

Rick nodded, trying to memorize what Kenny said was where. "Alright, makes sense. This place is huge. How have you never been found?" He asked.

[Raven]

"Everything except the cabin where we entered is underground, we made the place over years with gifted abilities," Kenny answered. "And don't worry too much about memorizing where everything is. The other students will be happy to help."

[Gifted]

"But you'd still need to be on the electrical grid, wouldn't you? And what about the internet? How are you not tracked by satellite or gps?" He asked. He seemed to realize he was being nosy, and laughed, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. "Sorry. Just, I was a bit of a tech nerd before all this went down, these are the sort of things I think about. You must have one hell of a system."

[Raven]

Kenny chuckled. "Most of our electricity is wind or solar power. We don't have much in the way of internet, unfortunately," he said. "We do have satellite phones, but out here not much works. Everything else is on a private network that can't access the internet or anything outside of the school."

[Gifted]

Rick nodded. "Alright. That makes sense. Internet's probably not really needed for anything here anyway."

[Raven]

"No," Kenny agreed, leading the way down a set of stairs and turning to the left, farther away from where they'd already been. The hall had four doors, but as they entered the nearest, it was clear that each on that side led to the same large room. It was a stone auditorium set up, with a large clear space in the center. "Sangria teaches combat and power mastery out of this room, when it doesn't involve abilities that might be dangerous in the space."

Rick nodded. "There classes for non-powered combat as well?" He asked. "Is this set for one on one fighting, or team fights? Because when it comes to one on one fights I might be better helping other students out than working on my own. Anyone not trained to fight unarmed is going to be a bit of a joke. About the only thing I had going out there, I already knew how to fight."
