The Reckoning

Kenny's eyes narrowed. "That isn't my problem. I'm not your tutor." While he would like to teach Liam, the child's wording had rubbed him the wrong way, and his irritation was mounting.

Liam could see that - he'd dealt with the Recollector long enough to know when the guy was mad at him. Without another word, he took off, recognizing he should no longer be there. He'd have to bring it up better next time he was forced to come do this. If he still wanted to by then. He'd have to set up a fight once he got home. The quicker he could regain his grip on reality, the better.

Kenny went to return to his home. Ignorant child, thinking he could tell him what to do. The Recollector could destroy that boy in an instant.

Mercy tossed an old bouncy ball against the wall and caught it as it came back. Cyrus and Rick were talking nearby. She'd have done just about anything to be allowed out, but she knew why she couldn't wander the city. Rook and those goddamn visions...

Cyrus glanced up from the notes that had been meticulously collected by a member of the team who was no longer with them. Things had been so much easier once. "I think we might hit Mist next. She was sighted in the area of the massacre two weeks ago. Even if she didn't do it, she might know who did. She shouldn't be too difficult to target, either." The Epic in question was a minor Epic with water powers.

It had been a rough time lately, having just lost their arms and ammunitions tech when he joined Mercy as Point. Rick had seemed almost like a blessing, but Cyrus knew better. The other man wasn't a great fighter, and he seemed hesitant to really become part of the team, despite wanting to fight Epics. Cyrus worried that this would result in him questioning orders and getting someone killed.

While he wouldn't deny giving the order that had cost Alan his life, at that point it had been the best option. He couldn't handle losing any more teammates. Though if he said as much, Mercy would laugh. He didn't want to lose more teammates - no one did - but he would do what was necessary, just as he'd always done. Deep down, he knew it just as Mercy did.

"Makes sense." Rick nodded to him once. "What sort of intel do we have on her?"
He felt bad for Mercy. He knew he would hate to be stuck in a burned out building like this, avoiding even sunlight in case there was a power line just outside. But it didn't make him more likely to want to really talk to her with Cyrus hovering around.

"She tends to spend time around the coast on the west side of the city. There's a cliff she occupies, doesn't appreciate anyone coming around," Cyrus said. "We don't know her weakness, but she isn't a high epic."

[Gifted]

"What is the power situation like on that cliff?" Rick asked. "Are we going to be exposing our faces to Bug if we hit her?"

[Raven]

"Away from power sources is the word," Cyrus said. "She's not making things too difficult for us."

[Gifted]

"Makes it seem almost too easy." Rick said thoughtfully. "Although I suppose not much cover on the cliff. It backs the ocean too, I'm guessing?"

[Raven]

"Sure does. It's out of Bug's reach, but it's her domain," Cyrus said

[Gifted]

Rick nodded. "Interesting. Sounds workable." He nodded thoughtfully.

[Raven]

"I want to set up surveillance, see if she has any patterns, if we can figure out a distinct way to corner her. I need to know if she'll be able to jump if we back her against the cliff face."

[Gifted]

"How are we going to do that between the three of us? It's not as though we can set up cameras." Rick pointed out.

[Raven]

"It won't be twenty four hour," Cyrus responded

[Gifted]

Rick looked skeptical. The plan was to do surveillance on her not even twenty four hours before moving in for the kill?
Still, Rick supposed it was the best they could do with only three people. "I'm assuming there's a plan to get more competent people in? So we have a large enough of a team that we're not relying on half baked plans."
