The Reckoning

[Gifted]

Liam nodded and gripped it a little tighter. "Okay, so keep it close." He repeate, nodding. "Because it's easier to make someone drop it if they are holding it super far away, right?"

[Raven]

"Or to grab their arm and move it," Kenny said. He took Liam by the wrist and forced his arm out, waving it around to prove his point. "You want to lead with the point. It's the sharpest area, and you want to stab, not slash."

[Gifted]

"Why do you want to stab in a fight?" He asked, actually curious about this one.

[Raven]

"It's stronger. You can put more force behind it, and the point will do more damage than the edge," Kenny responded. "You'll have to fight more the larger the surface is that you're doing damage with, because bodies are harder to cut through than butter."

[Gifted]

"Ok." He nodded. "That makes sense." He held it properly as his dad was trying to show him.

[Raven]

"Good," Recollector prompted. "You should find one you like."

[Gifted]

"Not allowed knives in the orphanage." He grumbled. "Believe me, I would love to have a weapon to bring with me when I go out. Although I suppose the fact they're not allowed is probably also why I'm not dead." He admitted. "I want to learn how to use a gun too, but I can only practice when I'm with you."

[Raven]

"You aren't sneaky enough to hide a knife?" Kenny asked

[Gifted]

"I'm not cocky enough to believe it's never gonna get found." Liam answered. "They search us randomly sometimes and they search our rooms. We all know the punishment for breaking the rules. I could get it in the building, probably, but then it's just a matter of when the punishment is coming."

[Raven]

Kenny scoffed. "Well, at least you won't overestimate yourself. You should find a place to hide it outside."

[Gifted]

"Hey, that's an idea. I could bury it or something." Liam hadn't thought of that before. That was a good idea. He hated how much he knew he benefited from this relationship sometimes.

[Raven]

"Then you can practice," Kenny added. He took his knife back.

[Gifted]

Liam nodded. He definitely wouldn't mind knowing what he ws doing, and using the Recollector as a teacher might make these mandatory visits a bit less horrible. "You'll have to show me stuff to practice, then." He agreed."I don't know how a knife changes how I fight."

[Raven]

Kenny scoffed. "I don't have to do anything. Leave me."

"Then how am I supposed to learn what to do? What is there to practice?" Liam asked.
