[Gifted]

"Yeah, I guess." Opal couldn't help but think that just because she'd found a friend in Nisha didn't mean she was batting a very good average - she still had people like Fuchsia on her back, and the moment that girl Roux had heard her last name she'd run off. Not that Opal could exactly blame her...

"So that means you've got to be prepared for anything! Really, that's a good mantra to have anyway." Tang said, like that totally solved the problem.

Gri had found her way there as well, and was scouring the bookshelves with interest. She had never had such a big collection of information at her hands, and the fiction section wasn't bad for some escapism either...

[Raven]

"What do you think the initiation will be?" Nisha asked

Xanthene looked around a bit. "You like books?" She asked aloud

[Gifted]

"No idea. Some sort of exam?" Opal guessed.

Gri loomed over at this other woman who insisted on speaking to her. "Yes." She responded, hoping that would suffice.

[Raven]

"And you're not much for taking. Cool," xanthene said, sounding like 'cool' was the least accurate word for her feelings on the matter.

Nisha looked a bit relieved. "I can do that..."

[Gifted]

Gri chuckled in amusement at the girls amusing response to her anti-social-ness.

Opal nodded. “It can't be too hard, right? It's only our first week."

[Raven]

Nisha nodded. "Yeah, you're right. I'm sure I'm worried for nothing." She smiled.

"Well, at least you have a sense of humor," xanthene said, pulling a book off the shelf and flipping through it. She wasn't much the reading type, but she acknowledged that some books were valuable.

[Gifted]

Gri smiled a little. "You sound like someone I used to know." She noted, but thinking about er made Gri upset again. The reminder had only made her smile because Gri was always drawn to that sort of personality, it was the sort of person she liked to be around. The sort who she was going to have the most trouble with avoiding. But it was for her own safety. She didn't want to make the same stupid mistakes.

[Raven]

"Yeah? Good used to know or bad?" Xanthene asked.

[Gifted]

"...Both, I guess." She answered. "I was friends with her for a long time. She's one of the reasons I don't make friends anymore."

[Raven]

"That sounds pretty bad," Xanthene said. "I don't make a habit of thinking of people who made my life that shitty as good things."

[Gifted]

"It's not what you think." Gri shook her head. "It would have hurt less if it was..."

[Raven]

"Then what was it?"

[Gifted]

"She never showed any sign of what she did. I keep going back over it all looking for signs but there was nothing. We were friends for years and they'd never hurt me until the day they tricked me into nearly getting myself killed so they could run because it was easier for them to sacrifice me than try to all get out."

[Raven]

"Still sounds like a bitch," Xanthene said bluntly.

[Gifted]

"She was a person." Gri shrugged. "I should not have put so much trust in her, or any of them."
