So You Wanna Be a Hero, Kid?

"Hello!" Stephanie greeted cheerily. "Are you part of our team too? What's your name?"

[Raven]

"Nah, I just wandered in here," Awhina responded sarcastically. "Awhina Te Rangi. You?"

[Gifted]

"Stephanie Clark. Pleasure to meet you." She held out a hand for Awhina to shake.
"My name's Jason." Jason chimed in.

[Raven]

Awhina raised an eyebrow, but shook Stephanie's hand. She already felt like she had a high fever.
"I'm Ryan," he said, for the record.
"Nice to meet you," Awhina said to all of them.

[Gifted]

Xander didn't acknowledge Awhinas arrival, although he still looked like he might punch something.

"It's good to meet you too." Jason answered.
"What he said." Stephanie agreed.

[Raven]

Ryan noted Xander's tension, but he chose not to address it. "So what's your power?" he asked Awhina.
She smiled. "Fire."

[Gifted]

"Oh, didn't they say not to pick an element?" Stephanie asked. "Did it work out okay?"

[Raven]

Awhina shrugged, holding her hands in front of her. She set a fire within her hands, though it started more as a small explosion. "Seems to be working just fine."

[Gifted]

"Well, it's good you didn't get hurt or anything. And it's really cool." Stephanie said cheerfully. "I like your tattoos, too! When did you get those?"

[Raven]

"A little more than a year ago," Awhina responded, extinguishing the flame and sitting back in her seat.
The door opened for the final time and Cassie stepped in, closing it behind her before she went to go sit down.

"That's all of you. I'm Xander Xavier, I will be commanding this unit. I will not be babying you because you're teenagers, so if you behave yourselves, do well in training and work hard then we'll get along fine. If you fuck around, I have more than enough experience to beat an untrained super in a fight and you will get hurt. I do not tolerate bullshit. Is that clear?" He stared at them all for a moment. "Come here, I'm going to introduce you to our target. After that we can talk about training."

Ryan slid down in his seat, while Awhina stared at him, unphased. Cassie was neutral. She had no intention of goofing off - this was a serious mission, and she was glad to have the opportunity to be part of it. She opened her mouth to say 'yes, sir,' but stopped when no one else spoke, clamping her mouth shut again.

Xander went to a couple of large, holographic computer screens and pulled up information where everyone could see. The largest screen had merely a photograph, while the other two showed footage of the destruction Danielle wreaked. The cameraman filming her was quite a ways away and was shaking in terror, but they could still sort of see her, dressed all in black like she usually was, wreaking havoc.
While Cassie might have been surprised by how psychotic Danielle looked in the footage, laughing hysterically as she caused havoc and chaos, the rest of them would probably be surprised she looked so innocent in the picture. The photo was from her file at the agency from when she was their super and so she looked not but three or four years older than they were, a shy ghost of a smile on her face.
"The Puppeteer." Is how Xander introduced her, a former hero like a supervillain. “Real name Danielle Masters. She has the powers of mind control and possession. “

[Raven]

Cassie stayed at the back, struggling to keep her face impassive as she stared at the screens.
"That's not creepy at all, huh?" Ryan asked.
"That's a cool power," Awhina said,
Ryan glanced at her. "What else do you know about her?" He asked Xander.

[Gifted]

"Quite a lot. She used to work here."
"She used to work here?" Stephanie asked, appalled.
Xander nodded. “She disappeared five years ago without a trace. When she resurfaced again three years later she was doing this." Xanders face showed no emotion. “She's had her abilities about nine years and is an expert at using them for stealth purposes. Thus far she deems to have forgone that, but it's something you should be aware of. She can use her abilities to both control people from a distance or posses people herself. She can fight hand to hand, and though we've never seen her carry she I'd capable with a firearm. "
