"Cool." Monique stepped into the line. She placed her hands in her jacket pockets. With an audible "Huh?" she pulled one hand out of pocket holding a pen. She grinned, placing it back into her pocket. "Did she say what she wanted?"

That was about when Stephanie opened the door of the shop. "Kailen, hey! Monique, it's been too long since I've seen you!" She greeted cheerfully.

As Monique was already in line, she naturally placed her order before Kailen or Stephanie. "Can I have, um," she said, drumming her fingers on the counter top, "one donut, please, with chocolate and sprinkles." She hastily pinched money from her pocket, sliding it across the counter by a fingertip. As she was handed her pastry, Monique smacked her lips, walking away from the counter. "I'm gonna go grab us a table."

"Sounds good." Kailen stepped up to the counter and ordered for himself and Stephanie, one raspberry filled donut and one maple creme. He paid and took his, waiting for Stephanie to do the same.

"Alright, see you in a minute!" Stephanie said cheerfully. She waited until Monique found a table before speaking to Kailen again in an undertone. "Okay, this is weird." She laughed nervously. "I didn't know you knew Monique, Kailen."
