Many years ago a small, catlike creature came to an ordinary elementary school in an ordinary town and changed a group of very young children's lives forever. Mira alerted a group of friends she found at an elementary school about a great threat to their well bei ng and helped them awaken the powers inside them fueled only by their imaginations. This group of young children fought evil every lunch hour, and even sometimes planned sleepovers so they could continue to fight late into the night when their parents were asleep. Mira was incredibly proud of them, fluttering her wings joyfully when they won. These kids were on top of the world, and they weren't even ten. They drove the villains to deep hiding, and Mira congratulated them on a job well done. It was her job to keep watch, but it appeared the villain was gone for good, so she gave them a job well done and let them go back to their normal lives. Now the villain has appeared, so Mira went back to call up hr old fighters again. But in the years since she'd left, those once tight knit friends had all gone their separate ways, some of them with no interest in even talking to each other. They remembered her, alright, but Mira found that they'd forgotten just ow real everything in their childhood was - they saw itas nothing more than childrens games. But could Mira convince a bunchof twenty year olds to believe in magic again? Or would the world fall with noone there to rescue it?

Mira was walking the street alone in front of the house that had become very familiar to her. She'd memorized the schedule of everyone inside, because the least she could do was have the courtesy to not show up in front of the girl's fiance. It would look weird for her to be talking to thin air, wouldn't it? Mira was nervous. She didn't want to see what she'd done to the last girl happen again. But She couldn't not talk to them. She approached the door and phased inside. She set about wandering the halls with her wings tucked in so she looked mostly normal, slinking around looking for a grown up girl she'd known as a child.
Meanwhile, another of Mira's former friends adjusted her heart necked, ruffled shirt. It was one of the cutest things she owned and she was wearing it for a very good reason. Her first psychology class a couple days ago, she'd noticed this super hot guy sitting a few seats down from her. She'd heard he was a business major, plus he dressed really well, and it made her excited. She only hoped she could get him to notice her today. This top had to do the trick. She brushed her hair, grabbed her bag and raced excitedly to class. She couldn't wait to see him!

The young blonde still wore an over-large t-shirt. It was warm enough she needed nothing else, even early in the morning. Her hair was pulled to the side as it always was, and she carried a cup of strong-smelling peppermint tea as she went to sit at her desk. She was fortunate not to have to go anywhere in the early morning, though she did spend the time doing her online classes. The lord knew she wouldn't be doing it while Stefan was home. Then she saw the creature in her hall, and she dropped her cup.
Kenny toweled his hair again, and pulled on his shirt, buttoning it up a decent amount. He was clothed, but it still looked good. Not like a soldier. He munched on a hastily made strip of bacon and stuffed a granola bar in his pocket. Then his eyes flicked to his companion. The creature that had kept him company for more than the last ten years, even when he hadn't known it.

Mira jumped a bit when the cup fell. "I'm sorry." She said, to break the silence when she saw Emilia staring. "I didn't mean to startle you."
The small black cat with the bright yellow eyes surveyed Kenny as he was getting ready. "You going to those silly classes again this morning, then?" She asked. A winged cat just like Mira, but Kenny's companion was jet black and her eyes were more narrowed, reflecting her darker, more intense personality. She held a disdain for his schooling and classes, though she did allow that what they taught may help him better work people in the future.

Kenny rolled his eyes. "Yes, it is Wednesday," he said. He'd given up explaining himself to her, since she clearly didn't entirely listen. "Are you going to be following me, or am I going to be the only one doing something useful this morning?" He asked. Though his words were biting, he was grateful for the cat's company. She helped him, and he helped her. Things were better with her there, though people would call him crazy if they knew. Not many could see Kira.
Emilia rubbed her eyes, expecting it to be gone, but it wasn't. With a frown, the young woman turned around and went to get a rag to clean up the mess of broken glass and spilled tea. She'd hardly gotten any of it, she wished it hadn't spilled. She paused when the cat still hadn't left, then just breathed and went to clean it up, crouching slowly near Mira.

"Whatever. Doesn't matter to me. Do you want me to follow you to your boring old class?" Kira smirked at him.
"Sorry. Do you need help with that?" Mira came closer, feeling bad for causing Emilia to mess up her carpet and coming closer to see if she could help in any way.

Emilia didn't acknowledge the creature, simply pressing the towel to the floor several times, trying to draw out as much of the moisture as she could. At least it hadn't been wine. She would have to call someone about cleaning it properly, though. The young woman brought her cup back to the kitchen, and got a glass of milk instead.
"I always enjoy your company," Kenny said. "No one else quite understands me." He grabbed his bag and opened the front door.

Kira chuckled. "Of course they don't. You're entirely different that all of them."
"I'm sorry about your tea." Mira said. "How've you been?"

"You're not real," Emilia said, sounding perplexed.
"I always have been," Kenny said, letting her through the door before he closed it behind him. He sometimes wondered if it was nice, being normal, but he would never say as much to Kira. It was a pointless discussion, anyway. Like he said, he'd always been different. "It's psychology today." He got in his car, once again letting Kira through the door before closing it.

"Of course I'm real. I'm standing right here, aren't I?" Mia answered. "It's great to see you again Emilia."
Kira curled up on his passenger seat. "Psychology." She said aloud. "Isn't that the one with that kid of my sister's in your class?"

"You're not supposed to be real," Emilia amended, looking back at her floor.
Kenny smirked. "Oh, yes. The girl who keeps looking at me."

"You know I don't understand how you all reached such a funny conclusion.." Mira said, walking closer to her. "We were together for a long time, after all. And it's not like I left without saying goodbye."
"Then I guess today isn't a total waste of your time after all." Kira allowed, and curled up to fall asleep in his truck.

"Because magical animals don't exist," Emilia said, like she was repeating a line.
Kenny rolled his eyes and pulled out of the driveway. He grabbed a coffee before he went to class, but he still made it in plenty of time, and took his usual seat towards the center of the room.

"Says who?" Mira asked. "Certainly not my favourite little lightning bug, eh?" Mira took off, fluttering up closer to Emilia's eye level. She noted the computer turned to Emilia's online classes. "What are you studying?" She asked curiously.
Danielle took a deep breath as she saw hi come in and sit down. That was him. Alright, just play it cool. She got up and came over, sitting next to him instead of two or three seats over like she usually did. "Hi. Do you mind of I sit here? Or are you saving this seat for someone?"

The nickname did make her smile a bit, but it quickly faded. "That is a journalism course," Emilia answered. "I'm taking it to hopefully get a better chance at promotion."
Kenny glanced up at her and smiled. "No, I'm not saving it," he answered. "Go ahead."
