Frederick grew a couple strawberry plants, and in a few moments they had several red berries. Freddy crouched down and picked them, handing them to Chase. "Why don't you give one to Lauren?" he suggested quietly so that only the boy could hear.

His eyes widened as he saw Fredrick create strawberry plants that sprouted from nothing and produced ripe fruit. When Fredrick spoke, Chase nodded and took the berries. He approached Lauren carefully and handed one to her. "Laurie?"
"Th-thank you, Chase." She took the strawberries he offered and ate one. "I'm sorry..." She hugged him.

Frederick sighed. "Lauren, the three of us have been tracked by a murderer for years now. Kenny's husband was killed less than two months ago, and he's trying to find all of you so that you have a chance at not meeting the same fate. Fighting between yourselves could get everyone killed, and you have no proof that Rakel has ever killed anyone, or even that she was actually trying to kill that boy, obviously if she was aiming at his head, she missed. It's entirely possible that she has killed people, and even if she hasn't, attempting to harm other people isn't a good thing, but spreading that distrust without allowing Kenny to talk to her about it, and without finding out everything, could put everyone in at serious risk."
