The others crowded around or lined up to get food. Kenny stood back to wait until everyone was done, while Frederick entered the other room and offered a smile to Rakel and Violet. "I'm Frederick," he greeted.

Rakel shook her head. "No, you'd think I could, right?" She agreed. "But I can't make the damn thing work for anything big enough to grow actual food. I tried to grow potatoes, carrots, apples... nothing. It all dies before I can stabilize it." She shook her head. "I can grow small flowers and weeds and grass and stuff, but thats about it."
