"I'm unaware of where it was flying over I saw it from a distance my lady." She smiled and sat down. Though that was untrue, she had seen many dragons before at her brothers wedding. She'd also seen the egg up close. The egg that was now gone.

"I understand. It must be overwhelming to see them so close now."

"I consider myself lucky to have been born a Nagarr. It's a bond unlike any other known to man, Madame."

"It sounds wonderful." She nodded. "They are marvelous creatures, Lady Nagarr."

Cassandra nodded and food was brought out. "I hope you like poultry. We eat rather a lot of it here. Chasing the birds gives the hatchlings more practice flying."

She actually recalled that from her brothers wife. "I adore poultry, thank you." As a kid she'd thought that a hilarious mental image, a tin dragon chasing a bunch of chickens around a yard. she remembered she couldnt wait for the dragon egg to hatch so she could set the baby on the chickens...

Lady Cassandra smiled. "Wonderful." It was a duck that was set before them, enough meat to feed a peasant family. They had left the neck attached to the body of the bird, letting them see the deep holes from the dragon's teeth. A servant came to cut the bird. "From which piece would you like your meat, Madame?" he asked her.

She politely made her request, grateful for the choice. They could not have poisoned the whole duck.

The servant delivered the food to her, and to the Lady Cassandra, then served other food as well, including potatoes, bread, and other dishes.

Madame Guillotine waited politely for all the food to be served and then let Lady Nagarr take a bite before Madame Guillotine began to eat her own portion. Food like this gave her waves of nostalgia.

"So, Madame, I'm curious. Was your family well-off? You had money?"

"I'm afraid I cannot disclose personal information about myself, Lady Nagarr. One never knows who might be listening."

"Hm. I understand, though I can't say I agree." Cassandra finished most of her potato before speaking again, "What is it you hope to gain from this job, Madame?"

"It's good business to keep a good reputation with the just lords and ladies of the area, my lady. I didn't get the reputation I have through neglecting a good ladies' holdings."
