Richard looked down the hall in both directions and then glanced down at the letter, attempting to identify the seal that had been used on it. He looked it over for hints for just a moment before moving back towards his room.

Brian wasn't about to let Richard disappear with his letter, so he stepped out and followed Richard more obviously at a quick pace. He could be simply going in the same direction. He wanted to see if Richard would hand him the letter or pretend he didn't have it.

"Thank you Duke Richard." He waited until it was quite obvious Richard was not going to hand it over before turning back. "Oh, and before I forget, I believe you have a letter for me?" He turned back and held his hand out to take it.

Richard didn't hang around, knowing when he was found out and knowing better than to push his luck. Brian was getting to be a problem. He could only hope that his current plan would deal with that effectively.
