I really don't enjoy the constant attention and teasing. So instead I write stuff.

ForThe Dancing And The Dreaming
It had been three weeks since the accident and the shifter was showing very few signs of recovering. What broke the most hearts was that he couldn't seem to remember the man he loved most in the world, the one for whom he was injured. It was taking a very heavy toll on said lover, who was slowly losing hope of ever regaining his husband.
He liked to do work in their room, spending time with Eddie, regardless of the amnesia. This day was no different. Only he couldn't resist the urge to softly sing "their song" as he folded the clothing, his soft baritone seeming to lull the injured man sleeping in their bed.
I'd swim and sail the savage seas With ne'er a fear of drowning I'd gladly ride the winds of life If you would marry me..."
As he continued Edrin stirred, listening intently and feeling this was deeply important. This held the key he had lost those many days ago.
"No scorching sun nor freezing cold Will stop me on my journey, If you will promise me your heart-"
Suddenly, he heard himself join, an airy tenor to complement his partner.
"...And love you for eternity..." He began to gain confidence as the words and melody flooded him.
"My dearest one my darling dear Your mighty words astound me But I've no need for daring deeds When I feel your arms around me..."
His husband grinned, tearful and relieved. This was a beautiful start and he picked up again in renewed vigor, holding his mate close.
"Well I would bring you rings of gold I'd even sing you poetry And I would keep you from all harm If you would stay beside me!"
Edrin actually laughed, holding his husband's hands tightly, memories coming back with every verse.
"I have no use for rings of gold, I care not for your poetry. I only want your hand to hold I only want you near me!"
Both were crying happily and embraced tightly, singing in unison and sharing memories in the words
"To love and kiss, to sweetly hold! For the dancing and the dreaming! Through all life’s sorrows and delights, I’ll keep your love inside me!
I’ll swim and sail on savage seas with ne'er a fear of drowning! And gladly ride the waves of life If you will marry me!"
It was back, Edrin was back, and keeping the promise they had made all those years before, sealed with that exact song. He remembered.
He loved Ryan And Ryan loved him.
