He serves his country. That is what he says as he walks along the fences, looking in on the horror only once or twice, just enough to fulfill his requirements. Only as much as his country needs. He passes another officer and they salute. "Seig Heil," he whispers, nodding at the man who only just surpassed him in rank. He was favored, Aryan: the blonde hair, blue eyes, and physical perfection that hërr fürher claimed would inherit the earth.
He looked in again and noted that one of the prisoners was also likewise "perfect." But she was a jew, her yellow star warning that she was the enemy. He smirked to himself. If she wasnt so damn skinny he would move her into his block of the "joy division." Then he saw the angel of death.
No, really. It was a literal angel of death, with black wings and a dark toga. He stared at the being, waiting to see if it would take the girl's soul away into the sky, or drag it through the ground (as would be expected with a jew). Instead, the girl did not weep with fear, but with joy. The angel gave her an entire loaf of bread, and sent the girl on her way. Then the angel turned and began walking to him.
She was radiant. Hair made of moonlight whipped about her in the wind, as she stepped with care. He fully expected her to pass through the fence, but instead she stopped and offered him bread.
"You look hungry," she whispered. It was then that he saw her eyes, piercing red, staring through him. Were he an ordinary man, he wouldnt have been able to move or speak. But he was no ordinary man. He was a soldier in the world's greatest army. He glared and barked at her instead.
"Who are you?! Why are you feeding the prisoners?!"
She looked taken aback and glared. The defiance in her eyes lit her up like a beautiful fire, and she said clearly and unwavering,
"I am an angel, I am Anya, and I am here to save as many as I can. Inluding you, sir."
((Thats all I got so far))
