Kailen stared after her in a mixture of shock and anger. Kenny must have gotten to her. Then another thought occurred to him. Knowing someone like him was bad for her image. If she'd humiliated and scared him for nothing more than public image, he'd kill her. He clenched his fists and started walking away, his face red.

Eventually the people at the rally started to disperse. As the crowd thinned, all that was left was plastic cups and paper bags, trampled grss, and discarded, crinkled business cards laying in the park.

After the third person tried to bless him or hand him money, Kailen lost it, shouting, "I'm not delusional!" Of course, a delusional man would say the same thing and all the outburst got him were a few looks of pity. Kailen snatched a business card from the grass and quickly went to leave, pulling his hood up to try to avoid more attention.
An hour later, Kailen was using a pay phone to call the number on the card.

A secretary answered. "Hello, this is the office of Congresswoman Stephanie Clark, how may I help you this evening?"
