Even those who choose to live in nature have started noticing the strange things that have been happening recently. Certain Pokemon are disappearing, those that remain have been acting more violently. In the cities, people have noticed the electrical disturbances. Anything that requires a signal is especially vulnerable. TVs and radios have stopped working almost entirely. Most strangely, in recent days there has been a flood of psychics wanting to know where their powers went. No one knows what's causing these problems, or how to stop it.

"No! Static!" The Luxaray skidded back ten feet on its side and stopped at its trainers feet, severely injured and clearly unable to battle. Demetra returned Static to his pokeball and glared anxiously at the indistinct wild pokemon that had challenged her. It was stronger than any wild pokemon she'd ever seen before... strong enough to take out five of her high leveled pokemon all by itself. Nevertheless, she still had her trump card. "I'm not out of this yet!" She snapped, pulling her last pokeball. This last pokeball contained the pokemon that had been with her from the very start. From her lonely childhood to those treacherous so-called friends to her vicious climb to the strength she was at now, her true friend was always by her side. "Aurora!" The Zoroark burst out of the pokeball and gave a roar. Aurora knew how much was riding on her in this fight. "Alright, Night Daze!" Demetra ordered. The Zoroark straightened up and shot a pitch black shock wave at the wild pokemon. To her surprise, the pokemon evaded the blast and fired a beam back at Aurora, sending the red-and-black pokemon blasted backwards twenty feet. But Aurora got up. "Torment!" Demetra ordered, not wanting to see her friend take that kind of hit again. The fight went back and forth forever. Aurora held her own more than twice as long as all her other pokemon, but this thing seemed unbeatable... How was it doing that? "Aurora, Night Slash!" Aurora got up close and slashed once, twice, three times, but then was blasted back by the things beam. With her last bit of HP she tried using Night Daze Again, but the pokemon collided with her and the Zoroark finally collapsed. Demetra ran to it. "Aurora!" After a long moment, the pokemon advanced on her. "Go away!" Demetra snapped at it. "You already won the match. My Zoroark's fainted." The thing came closer. "Go on, go!" It took a minute before Deetra got it. "No... you wouldn't attack a trainer... no..." The thing charged up its beam and Demetra scrambled to her feet, too scared to flee. "No! No!" She screamed in pain as it fired its blast at her.
She jerked awake in her hotel room. "Huh?" She looked around, pulling out her pokeballs in confusion. "Was it all... just a dream...?" She looked around. Everything seemed normal... still, she should take her pokemon to the pokemon center anyway, just in case. Even though it was probably a dream, she was too nervous to let them out... they had been injured pretty bad. The last thing she wanted to see was her friends broken, fainted form if the dream had been real, especially as that implied they'd been stuck all night like that, poor things. Nope, definitely better she got them to a pokemon center. It was as she was walking there that she realized something felt off. She wasn't sure entirely... what, exactly. She just felt different... Like the air around her was emptier. But that sentence didn't even make sense, empty of what? What was she expecting to be there that wasn't? She was certain she hadn't felt like this yesterday... She gave her pokeballs to Nurse Joy absentmindedly and sat down to wait. She felt very disconnected and... almost vulnerable like this. She hated feeling vulnerable. But it was like walking suddenly from humid air into bone-dry air. There was something missing, something that should really be there all around her. Did this have something to do with the fight last night? It wasn't even really unpleasant once one got past the vulnerability... it was a very conspicuous absence, not something that actively hurt or helped her. It was downright odd. Nurse Joy came back with her pokemon, and Demetra took them back without a word and let her six favourites out. "All better now?" She asked in a tone approaching cheerful. Though none of them answered, their appearances were all bright and healthy so Demetra nodded, figuring the question didn't need answering. She turned and began walking out, chatting with her pokemon. "So where are we headed next? Straight to the next Gym, or shall we hang around a bit?" No answer. "Come on, your choice, I honestly don't care. I've gotten a bit tired of training anyway, so if you want to rest..." Still no answer. She looked back. "What, giving me the silent treatment? You mad at me now?" Demetra scowled. Aurora made a small growling sound, but other pokemon just stared up at her silently, looking confused. Demetra's scowl grew deeper. Really? The hell were they being so childish for? They could at least give her the courtesy of telling her what they were mad about. "This about the battle last night? You know I didn't lose to that thing on purpose, I tried to run like three times." They still didn't speak to her, though they all pressed closer. Static nudged her hand with his head affectionately. Demetra was confused. If they weren't mad then why weren't they... why weren't they... "No..." Demetra finally understood, but she couldn't believe it. "No way. No. Come on guys, this ain't funny. Say something. Seriously.Say something!" She shouted at them, and several of them jumped. But she couldn't hear so much as a whisper from them that she could understand. She returned all of them to their pokeballs including Aurora, and ran outside.
Her clairvoyent powers... that's what was missing. Every person, every place, every item she passed, she was supposed to be able to feel it... it was so universally there it might as well be the air. But now... nothing. Not at all. She tried to focus, tried to see into the past of the pokemon center and area around it, but nothing new came into view. She got nothing, nothing at all. In desperation, she tried to mind control some random kid on the street, but the kid didn't even break stride. Panicking, she walked quickly through the streets desperately, looking for something, anything to trigger a psychic reaction. Maybe she should try battling? Oh, she never used her powers battling, who the hell was she kidding? What was she going to do? She passed a doctors office... and then stopped. Yeah, that was all she needed. A doctor. She was making a big deal out of this. She was just sick or something. Yeah, that was probably it. It wasn't any worse than suddenly going deaf - part of her body didn't work right, and the doctor would figure out why and fix the problem. She just needed a doctor. She almost went in when she saw a sign on the door. No Pokemon allowed. No, not even in Pokeballs. What a stupid rule, She thought. What was wrong with them staying in their pokeballs? She supposed it must mess with the equipment or something. Whatever. Back to the pokemon center it was, then. She placed the six pokeballs carefully in the tray to put them into the PC. "Sorry guys, but I have to leave you for a minute. Not allowed to bring you to the Doctors. Hopefully there I'll get the power thing sorted out. But I'll be back for you real soon." She placed the last Pokeball, Aurora's, into the tray. "I promise."
The doctor's office was in pandemonium. Demetra couldn't believe the noise when she opened the door. There were dozens of people inside, screaming and crying and demanding to be seen. One girl was sobbing and crying "Why won't it light!? Why won't it light?!" While another was jumping up and down over and over again as if they expected to fly away. A little girl sat in the corner murmuring "I don't understand... I don't understand.." and several boys were ganging up on the poor secretary, demanding to be seen. "I'm sorry!" The Secretary said as loud as she could to be heard over the voices of the distressed band of former psychics. "All Rain Walkers, Influentials, Air Adepts, Empaths and others who fall under the Psychic title, Dr. Vert cannot help you. I'm afraid we have no medical explanation for the sudden loss of psychic powers in the area, and he is unable-" she was drowned out by the protesting psychics. All these people had lost their powers too? She wasn't the only one? Demetra was shocked. And if the doctor really couldn't help... she saw these guys were getting nowhere fast with him. She turned and left the office. Well, she'd just have to figure out what happened, then. She and Aurora could fight anyone that got in their way....
As soon as she got back to the Pokemon Center she knew something was wrong. The PC screen was flashing, but no error message was shown. Moving the mouse and clicking did nothing to it. She tried to reboot it but it wouldn't even turn off! She turned then, to ask Nurse Joy what was going on, but she was on the phone. "What?" She was saying. "Yes, mine's doing that too... huh? All over Hoenn? But that's impossible! What about the pokemon?" She turned and wandered into the back. WHAT? "No way! They've gotta fix the computer! Someone must be able too!" Aurora... Static... all her other pokemon...

A younger girl rushed into the center with a blue flamed candle in her arms, glancing over her shoulder to make sure the Pokemon wasn't following her. "Where's Nurse Joy?" She asked, eyes going to Demetra. The Pokemon didn't look good, the flame flickering. The girl herself looked flustered, her bun coming down and her clothes rumpled, but otherwise fine.

"How should I know?!" Demetra snapped, having even less patience for people now than she usually did. "Somewhere in the bloody back!" She hit the side of the computer, trying anything she could think of to make it work.

Despite her Pokemon's condition, the girl was intrigued. "Do you know what happened to the PC?" She asked, coming over. Though Nikka loved books, computers were much easier and on the rise, so she spent much of her time on them.

Nikola's eyes widened. "Your Pokemon are in there? Tell me what happened." She looked over the PC in alarm.

"I don't know! What do you even care!? Demetra demanded, rounding on her. What the hell did this stupid girl want! Couldn't she see Demetra was having a mental breakdown over here?!

"It doesn't look like anyone else is helping you, and I don't have anything better to do since nurse joy is in the back. But if you'd rather I just leave your Pokemon in there I'll go sit with Vi and wait."

"I'm twelve, and I know more than you do about computers. Your specialty might be in freaking out and being rude, but I want to be a researcher, which means that on top of being the only person offering who even could help you, anything I do will be more effective than hitting it."

"Look, go ahead and give it a try if you want, but Nurse Joy said all the computers in Hoenn are doing this, so I really doubt you can help."

"I still might learn something," Nikka said, coming to inspect the computer.
