"Oh hey, sounds like a guy a friend of mine told me about." Sharie smirked. "That sounds useful. I guess you'd need a conductor though..."

"Probably like the front of the cells. I thought I saw something weird up there." Rakel sighed. "That means even if I were to grow a plant high enough it'd just die off anyway."

"That's why I used the metal cable. I mean, I can send it a distance, but it isn't as accurate without anything to guide it," Ben said.

"Your power is plants?" Francis inquired.

Sharie was looking up and thinking as Ben spoke. after a moment she sighed. "Well once we figure out a way out of here I'm sure you'll find another one."

"Yeah, plants and fire. On the outside I'm known as the Black Rose." Rakel told him.

[Raven]

"My friend over there controls plants too," Francis reported.

Ben shrugged. "Yeah, I'm sure it's no problem. You said your friend mentioned someone like me?"

"Oh really? He must be a strong fighter."

"Yeah, my friends recruited him once." Sharie sighed and leaned against the wall. "Truth be told, this isn't the first time I've been caught by the government alive. I know that makes me sound like a terrible fighter." She smirked. "This was back when running and fighting was normal, of course. Anyway, we got into a bad spot and I was the unlucky one who took the fall for it and got myself captured. Apparently they recruited an electricity gifted to temporarily take my place and after about a month they broke in and got me out. I saw the guy all of once before he left to... I don't even remember. My friends'd know better than me. Shame he didn't stick around though, 'pparently he was pretty cool."

[Raven]

"He's a pacifist," Francis answered.

Ben blinked. "Is your name Sharie?"

"Ugh. Lame." Rakel rolled her eyes.

Sharie frowned in surprise. "Yeah... how'd you...? Ben?"

[Raven]

Francis laughed. "Right? He mostly just sits around and plants flowers."

"Yeah," Ben grinned, "that's me. Did the group get attacked again?"

[Gifted]

"God, what's the point of having him locked up here? It's not like he does anything. Those of us who're threat to the boody tyrants I can understand. He's no help at all."

Sharie's eyes closed at the question. She turnedaround, putting her hand on the wall that kept her in this prison, the one her whip hadn't even put a crack in. her hand shook slightly as she spoke. "Yeah. We... we walked into an ambush." she sighed. "We'd heard they were going to ambush Alex's team, so we raced off to warn him... we didn't realize that was exactly what they'd wanted us to do, and we'd fallen for the real trap. The eight of us together fought for our lives, and I saw three others be killed before I finally lost consciousness. When I came too I was chained to a hospital bed having just gone through life-saving surgery. I don't even know if anyone else is still alive."

[Raven]

"That's awful, I'm sorry," Ben said, putting a hand on her shoulder.

"I don't think they actually care. I think a lot of them would just as soon kill him. He's led a peaceful revolution before - if it was small-scale. He's left that behind, but I'm fairly certain no one thinks about who we are as people when we're locked up here. If they did, they might have been smart enough to kill some of us."

[Raven]

"Very smoothly. Victor was just having a bit of trouble." Red put his arm around Victor's shoulders.

[Gifted]

Sharie sighed. "I'm going to figure out a way out of here. i have to. And while I'm working out a way out, I'm sure if any of them survived they'll be looking for a way to rescue me as well, so it's just a matter of waiting to see who figures it out first. I'm just scared one day I'll finally bust out of here only to find there's nobody left to look for."

"You got a point there." Rakel nodded and chuckled.

Victor pushed Red's arm off him.
"Oh good, you're here." Vivian said, a little irritated. "I wasn't aware you were so unobservant you'd be badly hurt if someone played a joke on you."

"Well, I hope there will be, and I'll help you look when we do get out," Ben said.

"Oh shut up, Viv," Red joked. "What's the matter?"

[Gifted]

Sharie smiled. "Thanks Ben." She replied.

"Well this is us three's only chance to talk before they haul us back into those stupid cages." Vivian said pointedly.

[Raven]

"Well, you can talk to me later about what the two of you talked about." Red shrugged, but started to drag Victor over to one of the benches.

"Of course," Ben answered, looking towards Josiah and Beatrice.
