Kenny barely managed to hover, but Adam wasn't going to be outdone. He raised almost four feet above Wesley.
Lynn floated at a reasonable level from the ground.

"Alright, good job everyone!" Professor Viette flew up on her own broom to join them. "Alright, now I want everybody to lean forward slowly and you'll lower bc to the ground. Go slowly, you don't want to nosedive into the grass."
Wesley went quickly anyway, dipping into a dive and pulling up and stopping at the last second before he smacked into the ground.

Adam charged after him, pulling up a bit sooner than Wesley, but then touching onto the ground. Kenny leaned forward so lightly that the broom didn't move.
Lynn leaned forward lightly and touched back down.

August brought herself back down to the ground. Something inside of her already made her feel like she she constantly floating, the last thing she needed was to physically be out of touch with the world. As she landed on the ground she got off her broomstick and held it with one hand. This was most definitely not a pleasant experience.

It was clumsy and awkward, but Andrea eventually made it to the ground.
"Alright!" Professor Viette said when they got back on the ground. She spent the rest of the class going over basic broom safety.

She acknowledged their showing off and it was pretty clear she wasn't pleased by it. "So you'll just have to be patient."
