"I can take on like four clients at once, course I'm free." he smirked. "Come by after nine, so I can put my kid to bed." It was his usual command.

"Y'know I'm starting to think the kid's an excuse just so nobody sees me walkin near your place in the day," Adam said jokingly.

"That works too." Kaito shrugged. "Either way, don't show up 'til after nine." He didn't particularly care what his clients believed, besides, if they thought his daughter didn't really exist they might never threaten him with hurting her.

"Yessir," Adam replied snidely. "See ya, old man."

"Oh, please, I'm barely even seven years older than you." Kaito smiled. At least Adam was his one client who had a sense of humor. "Goodbye, Adam."

"Yeah, I said old." Adam grinned as he left. He was in no hurry to get to school. Maybe he'd even be late for the next period.
Meanwhile, Kenny silently ducked into class and slid into his seat. "Mr. Clark," the teacher barked. "What do you think you're doing coming into my class almost an hour late?" "I'm sorry... I just figured it was better than not coming at all." As soon as the words left his lips, Kenny looked like he wanted to take them back. The teacher, Miss Charity Robinson, glared. "You know very well that I do not tolerate lateness, Mr. Clark. Nor do I tolerate yours and your brother's Poopie. The two of you have nothing going for you and all you'll become in life is one more prisoner eating away tax money. You hardly ever come to class, when you do you're late, and you're always doing drugs or trying to con young women into your beds."

Roseanne had had enough. This teacher needed to learn to watch her temper. She stood up straight. "Excuse me, Mrs. Robinson, but I don't believe Kenny has ever done any of that." She said in an even and unflustered tone.

"I've seen their records, not to mention seeing them in the parking lot and in the halls often enough," Charity snapped. All men are good-for-nothings anyway. "Why don't you go back to your work, miss Hawthorn?"

"You've seen Adam's record." She condradicted, but she wasn't challenging the teacher. she kept the same respectful manner. "But but does the actions of one brother neccessarily indicate the actions of the other? I for one, have never seen Kenny Clark skip this class a day in my life, and as I consider gaining an education to be of supreme importance, I have a considerable record of attendance myself. I'm sure Kenny will understand if you're having a bad day, however your anger is clouding your judgement and you are creating a scene. I'm sure Kenny has a perrfectly justafiable reason for being late, however your mood has put most of the class on edge. Your anger not only negatively affects Kenny but the class as a whole, and most likely subsequent classes as well. Please do not allow your temper to cloud your judgement"

"If he has a reason for being late, perhaps he should have gotten a note. Roseanne, step into the hall please," Charity said, her voice much calmer than it was, but it wasn't a pleasant calm.

"Certainly." Roseanne nodded and stepped out without a fuss.

Charity followed her after instructing the students to carry on. "And here comes the brother," she hissed as Adam walked by as though he was taking a stroll around the block. "What are you doing out of class?" "I've got a note, miss Robinson." Adam walked backwards away from them as he waved the note around. Charity sighed like she was disappointed not to have busted him.

Roseanne said nothing, though privately she was thinking that note was probably forged.

Even if it was, it was only for ease of access. If questioned, Aaron would reveal nothing.

((XD Ok fine but you've never walked by a teacher in the hall scolding out another student? I'm a teachers pet type and I do that all the time and entertain myself by eavesdropping all the time.)) Roseanne listened politely and though she defended herself against any accusations, did not once lose her temper.
