"The lower class is most people, Kaito. Your level of wealth is reserved for congressmen and famous people, and people doing something illegal," Dusty informed him.

"I was more thinking of the middle class actually. If you've got a decent job and the money to own a two-bedroom house in a half decent neghborhood I'd say you've got it slightly better than a pison inmate. Or een just a on-bedroom apartment in a half decent neighbourhood, for that matter." he replied. "I'm not nieve, I lived like that once you know. Going to law school does that to you, even with the scholarships."

"Yes and the people who have done something illegal get sent to prison where they are fed three meals a day, get to sit around rather than work, provided with health care, television, a full gym, possibly internet. And when their sentence is up, they get paid to not come back," Dusty said. "I might consider it myself if knives weren't so frowned upon in there."
The otherwise empty parking garage was apparently the daytime residence of two very loud street dwellers. "Hidin' down 'ere cause the uppities dunno the word recession, eh?" one of them called, rudely. "I be' you don' even care, no' like they do. They still gotta get places withou' seein' how dirty the streets are, don' they? Tinted windows 'n' all."

"They also rarely get to see their loved ones, are only allowed outside at certain times, and have no company but other criminals and sociopaths. " Kaito poited out. "Excuse me Dusty, but it is very important to me that I see my daughter before my next court case."
Dennis rolled down the window and answered camly. "I must wait down here so the seats don't get too hot. I'm simply accomidating my next client fo the wages I receive." He rolleit up again quickly, at least high enough so they couldn't reach through the window. He wasn't particularly concerned for himself but it wasa good idea not to get blood or any sort of dirt on the upholstery.

"Yes, well we get along just fine. Run along, then. My break is over anyway," Dusty said.
"Yeh, you're jus' a servant for the rich folk. Good they pay ya for bein' a joke," he yelled. "At least he doesn't have to rely on friends," Ryan called to Toby as he crossed the parking garage. He was noticeably cleaner than the other two, but he still wasn't terribly well looked after. Just well enough that he could get into places most homeless people couldn't. As he went he glanced at the license plates and froze as he realized it was the same limo he'd jacked. What were the odds? He shook his head and crossed the remaining distance to his two companions. "Righ' but I don' needa be a clown," Toby shot back. "Where's the money?" Ryan shushed him quickly, glancing at the limo again.

"Goodbye, Dusty I'm sure I'll tlk to you again soon" Kaito replied, and left the courtroom to see his daughter as fast as humanly possible.
Dennis's first thought was the sort of reaction he would've had befor the fiasco. A smug "At least it's a living." Would've put those guys right in their place. But he wasn't going to try to judge another humans worth or assume hewas better than them. He just stated "I do what I must do to get by," with no malic. He rolled up the window and checked his watch.

"Wassa matter with you, Ryan?" Toby demanded, not too quietly. Ryan handed him his share - two hundred - to shut him up. "I caught a ride here in that limo. He didn't know it was me, but I wouldn't be surprised if the guy he was supposed to pick up wanted to know where the hell he was."

Fortunately, Dennis didn't hear, or this wouldve shocked and angered him. Notthat he got violent or even loud when he got angry... but it was harder to be respectful to his clients when something like that happened. Dennis pulled out of the parking space and drove away ready to pick up his next person.
((this'd be the perfect place to put Sheilah's intro, but I'm too tired to think right now.))

Kenny realized far too late that he had no idea where he was. He looked around in despair and recognized the courthouse. Of course Adam's short cut wasn't a short cut. He was already ten minutes late, and now he would probably come in with hardly any class left. Damn his brother.

Kaito was making his way quickly home when he came across a teen wandering the streets. He was almost sure he recognized the boy, but it took him a minute to place the client. "Adam Clark?" he questioned, suddenly recognizing. him. "What brings you down here at this time of day? It wouldn't be for the pleasure of my company, would it?" He usually kept up the friendly pleasantries until he was behind closed doors with them. Safer that way.

"Uh, no, I'm not Adam... I'm... I'm his twin brother," Kenny fumbled after he recognized the judge. He glanced around nervously. "Hey, Kaito, long time no see." The rowdier of the twins had lagged behind, but now he rounded the corner and joined the tiny gathering. "Hopefully you haven't got anybody too important next week." Adam grinned mischievously.

"Oh there you are, Adam. I didn' know you had a brother!" he laughed. "Next week? No, I think I'm open... See you Tuesday? Or is that a little late for you...?" That was his way of asking if Adam's court date was ose to then. He mentally checked to see if he had any free time on Monday.

"Nobody knows I have a brother, he'd ruin my reputation. As for Tuesday, it's a little early. You know, I put up with with Mondays and Tuesdays, but after that even the calender says what the fuck." Adam laughed. Of course when he said he put up with Mondays and Tuesdays, he meant he was too tired after the weekend to really party. "It's Thursday, after school. Though I don't know why they bother. It's not like I go anyway." Kenny: 8C The virtue quietly slipped away to keep heading towards school.

Kaito waited until Kenny wasn't around, then lowered his voice. "Usual crime, usual fee?" He'd gotten Adam out of a fair number of drug possession jams before.

"Yeah, and don't worry about him. Dad'd beat him if he even looked at a cop," Adam said. "You're sure you're free? I'll bring the cash tonight."
