Okay, since we're actually using this board again, I'll actually post ideas here rather than the chatboard.
So I've been clinging to this story idea for awhile, and I only just now thought to make a rp out of it.

So we're 100 or so (probably more) years in the future, and I'm seeing sort of an Orwellian future. I'll probably remove some negative terms from vocabulary, so negitive things can't be said about the corperation your character lives under.
Countries no longer exist, at least not in North America. Conntact with the other contineints has been completley cut off. The world is run now not by countries but by million dollar companies, each with their own territories. The companies will be as follows:

Apple: The largest of the territories in both population and land, it contains Alaska, Greenland and the vast majority of canada. The bottom of the territory on a map runs in a relitivley straight line along the Canadian/US border, hits Lake Superior before moving up to the lowest point of Hudson Bay and continuing diagonally upwards through Quebec. Contains all of Newfoundland and PEI.
Google: The second largest in population, though third in size. Runs from Washington to North Dakota and down to Kansas before continuing on a diagonal to the bottom of New Mexico and through a small part of Mexico.
Mcdonalds: All the states along the Eastern coastline of US, as far out as eastern Ohio. Also includes Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi
Starbucks: Michigan, Wisconson, the part of Ontario unoccupied by Apple and the part of Minnesota hugging Lake Superior. Easily the smallest territory.
Nike: The second biggest in size. The remainder of Mexico and all countries lower than Mexico. The US states unclaimed by anyone else, save for Kentucky and Tenesse, which are rumoured to still be radioactive and therefore unoccupied.

All of th occupants of the territories are raised to hate all the other territories and believe theirs is superior.

I'm actually not terribly sure where I'm going with this... maybe some sort of resistance group trying to take down the corrupt and controlling governments of the territories... or sommething. Some help would nbe nice. But I've had this idea for awhile, so I thought I'd throw it out there.

I personally loooove the idea and think it would make for an interesting roleplay. I think a resistance group against the goverment sounds cool.

I knew it. Apple would go from a hardware company to an international conqueror just after Armageddon. Seriously, though, I like the concept. I do have a suggestion, however. Characters can be people who explore the scattered Americas from other countries, or people who flee their own territory to experience life in another. Just an idea.

I'm thinking more futuristic than that angel XD but we'd have some incarnation of it.
I'm planning on making up a mode of transport that anyone can use that makes those distances managable... like you can go from the western to eastern side of the continient in a day. That way theres interaction between those living in different territories

So The Sleeping Dragon decided to wake up, and create a scenario. Many years from now Japan has taken over the planet by using their means of Visual culture. The children are now being raised with a pride for Japanese culture, and a new Hierarchy as been formed. Those who were born of Japanese decent before the Global assimilation sat on the top, under them were the hardcore Otaku of the world, who were unaffected by the assimilation due to their already existing appreciation for the culture. However, this only promoted peace for a temporary amount of time. Soon many different factions rose, and it was only a matter of time before they would begin a new warfare. Warfare is highly affected by Assimilation. Instead of mass invasion, and Blitzkrieg, the system changed to one of patience, and seemingly related to chess. Due to the fact that this has occurred million of years from now the world has changed into a single land mass, with some surrounding islands. The two Largest Dynasties in this rugged Elipse were Kyoani, and Ukato. the smaller dynasty to the south, on the Prime Meridian was the land of Shonen. Shonen played a neutral ground in hopes of saving it's land, and forming useful relationships with the warring lands hat surrounded all but one side of it. They would act as Safehouses, information brokers, healers, and sell their goods, while Kyoani, and Ukato pinky swore not to invade them(as an otaku you know that pinky swearing is some dead serious s**t >=l) I'll throw in more (like religion, tech levels etc.) later, but I was wondering other peoples thoughts

(Much against my natural means of action, I've decided to introduce my story before I spit it out on the forums)
In the great continent called Jabten, there are no humans. Instead of human beings, there are only Pokemon. Their natures, however, are not those of wild animals. You see, many Pokemon have become incredibly intelligent, and have learned to create societies of their own. Some have taken to cooperation, putting aside hatred to build better lives. Others, however, live the lives of humans but think like animals, prehistoric instinct and bias blocking the way of progress. Even with tremendous leaps of advancement, however, not all Pokemon have become truly civilized, or even basically intelligent. Some still shamble in the days of unrest and animal order, while others teeter on the line of feral and civilized.

I wanna get the factions up for my Pokemon RP, which I will call "Pokemon: A Land in Trial."

Pokemon factions:
Celestus: A nation of great advancement and culture, Celestus has a long history of tribulation and progress. Since the dawn of civilization, Pokemon have always vied for control over one another. Whether they are trying to better "lessers" or simply follow their own senses of greed makes no difference to those who suffer, and if you weren't a fighter in the days of Young Celestus, than you would soon become one. After years and years of established kingdoms fighting and innocents dying, a stalemate was reached. A single battle would decide the fate of the people of the North and South. Yet, no side dared strike first on the barren field where they waited. When the tension grew too great for either general to bare, and they stood just across from one another, waiting for the other to attack, a grand light shone from the night sky. This blazing white sheen condensed into a pillar, and the Pokemon of the Full Moon descended. Creselia had come forth to halt the war before the battle that would only tear the individual kingdoms to shreds. Cresselia instructed them that they should unite without quarrel, that Loyalists and Conquerors alike should drop their stubborn goals and agree to peace. Cresselia was a beautiful and majestic Pokemon for all to behold, but the fighting stopped for a reason not intended: they feared that a Pokemon with the legendary power like Cresselia would destroy all those who did not follow her commands. So, she ascended back into the heavens, and peace quickly ensued the kingdoms. Many years passed, and immigrants from across the sea only supplemented the progress and business of Celestus, a country blessed and watched over by Cresselia. Now, after a complex new government prevented a lineage or dynasty from taking absolute hold over the people, and free trade allowed for a bustling and ever expanding economy. Things were looking up for Celestus, but, as with all great powers in the world, chaos is bound to grow within undaunted peace. Now, the once small village of Celestia, a city dedicated to worshiping the moon, has grown into the most crime filled, scum bag, corrupted city capital in all of history. The nation's Prime Minister, William Sykes, a respected Empoleon, has finally met the end of his ten year term, and the citizens of Celestus hope the sprawling new candidates will change the nation for the better.

Hyperlink City: The curious members of the Porygon species have tendencies to defy the laws of science and logic. It was declared that a single city could not stand as a nation, especially within the borders of another. The political mastermind Fuse, illusionist extradorinaire, found a way to turn the mega city of Hyperlink into a nation of its own. Now, you would think a mega city, as defined by a population of at least ten million, would be overcrowded, hard to manage, and insanely large. Fuse managed to fix this problem as well. Fuse somehow put his programmers to work and made the Hyperspace Haven of Hyperlink System, or the HHHS, that allowed Porygons, their evolutions, and even some electric type Pokemon to dwell in a computer program. An entire mega city, with the majority of the population demoleculerized and stored as data within a condensed network. Fuse has an enjoyment of pushing the boundaries of logic and common sense. Now, the country of Hyperlink has established good relations with its much larger sister country, Celestus, but, growing concerns have arisen over Fuse's unusual secrecy. His identity is one thing, but a long span of time has passed where Hyperlink has isolated itself, operating without any consent or notification to the Celestus government. Their status as allies is ever so slowly declining, and suspicions and rumors of menacing plots have made Hyperlink a monster in the eyes of the politicians and the citizens. Now, the mysterious capital has become a territory that all unauthorized officials are forbidden from entering.

The Chilling Malice: For a time, the harsh mountains in the east were thought to be unlivable, for they were cloaked in a sheet of eternal winter. However, a brave explorer named Trement, along with his wife and two sons, established a successful village in the highest peak of the range, which he called the Frozen Point. Trement, a strong hearted Zoroark, and his wife, Malva, a malicious Weavile, and their two sons, Hemo and Gouch, were the first to ever even consider life in the frozen peaks, let alone successfully lead a colonization party there. For the first two decades of Winter's Edge, the newest nation in the world, all was well. Ice type Pokemon finally had a solid home to learn about themselves and their abilities, and rich resources aplenty could be found in the mountains, such as rich deposits of gold, platinum, and even the occasional cache of diamond. However, Trement's bravery caused him to meet with his fate. He, being one of few, dared to explore the mysterious caverns of Cosmic Rock, a large extraterrestrial mountain that had somehow landed without much more than a faint quake. It was the single most feared location on the planet, and he ventured into it. Friends and family of Trement watched from a great distance away, and the numerous openings that dotted the rock all produced a flash of blue light, and a horrifying shriek. It could only be assumed that Trement had been lost, as no one dared go in after him to find out. With Trement gone, his wife slowly began to lose her mind. She felt abandoned. Forsaken, even. As such, she reorganized the booming cities that controlled the mountains into the Empire of Chilling Malice. With all her citizens under a new dark order, she began to recruit...others. Many rumors of ghosts gathering in dry mines by the thousands began to stir the peaceful silence that had existed between the Celestus government and Winter's Edge. Many who traveled as an embassy or even an adventurer into one of the cities mysteriously went missing. Malva made sure that no one of any foreign power knew what she was up to. Eventually, even darker rumors of blatant abductions and disturbing brain washing methods began to arise, and the Empire of the Chilling Malice was transforming from a trusted friend of Celestus into an enemy of dark intent. Now, with the new elections on the horizon for Celestus, military authorities are become ever more wary of what move Malva will make next.

Kingdom of the Sands: The vast deserts of the east were once thought to be a pointless block on the road for advancement of civilization. However, it was discovered that under the desert sands, there lied the remains of the oldest Pokemon in history. Even deeper were oceans upon oceans of crude oil. The desert, called the Beds of Eternity, changed from a nuisance to a treasure trove. Explorers and colonists rushed into the sands, but in the earlier days of Celestus, few had the technological capabilities to survive in the harsh sands and dastardly heat. Thus, the rock, ground, and of course steel type Pokemon of Celestus had to step forward with courage in the place of crude machines. They would work to extract the oil and live in luxury from the generous payments of the Celestus mainlanders. Great numbers of Pokemon traveled here to strike black gold. Yet, as time passed, a goal of financial godhood was no longer satisfying enough. The first family to travel into the Beds of Eternity was the Revben clan, a family obsessed with ideals of royalty and superiority. Thus, they monopolized all the corporations dedicated to harvesting crude oil and processing it and stomped out the pathetic attempts at family businesses. With complete control over the dunes and the oil, the Revben family became the dynasty of the Beds of Eternity, ruling over the Kingdom of the Sands. As time passed, many outlanders sought to drill for oil on there own rather than pay for the over priced resources that the Sultan's Bounty Co. had to offer. This lead to aggression, as King Partafi and his wife Queen Muntu, an old Hippowdon and a quiet young Sandslash, didn't want foreigners to dishonor his sacred art of corporation. His extreme fortune had given him power over the government of Celestus, but he feared his indirect reign had been permanently extinguished with the stubborn Prime Minister Sykes proving that an election could be won without wings made from petroleum. So, Partafi has turned his isolated Kingdom into a harsh and hostile citadel. He wants to horde all the oil for himself, so that he can be even stronger, and that his hold on Celestus may be restored.

These are all the major factions. They're kind of a big deal, so...yeah. If you have any ideas for other factions, or want to suggest anything, please do so.

Summary for Major Pokemon Civilizations:

Celestus: Nation named after Creselia, Prime Minister retiring. Very corrupted.
Hyperlink: Fuse has kept his Porygon peoples in a Cyberspace world, and is suspected as being evil by the Celestus people because he's so secretive.
The Chilling Malice: Husband of a crazy b***h died, she's turning the nation into a syndicate, very evil.
Kingdom of the Sands: Insane CEO/Sultan of oil corporation is becoming more insane with greed, he wants control of Celestus, by "oiling" up the candidate's campaign.

Thought up a vague idea for an RP. Didn't know what to do with it. I'll just put it here for later, or just to be here....

Harold inched along the sidewalk, a dazed look about him. He glanced left and right, overwhelmed by the thousands of people that passed him by without a word, not a shred of acknowledgement. What was this? Hatred? Was he accused of something? Did people avoid his gaze because of how he looked? Harold reached out to touch the shoulder of a passerby, then was shocked to find that the man didn't feel his touch. Even more frightening, however, was the fact that Harold hadn't felt the touch. It was as if his hand had passed right through his shoulder. He stared at his hand, then gasped, finding it bruised and bloody, just as it was.....when he died. Harold remembered the last seconds of his life. A sadistic serial killer had tortured him to death. Now, he couldn't sleep in peace, as he thought he would. Now, all he felt was pain, because that was the only thing he could remember. Pain.

Two ideas to present, which I'm posting here because they're still kinda vague.

First, a place where there are certain people who are connected to voodoo dolls. Most of them are slaves in the large mansion in town, though there are a few who have managed to keep their freedom and keep their doll hidden. The free voodoo people would be put into slavery the instant someone found their doll. Some free voodoo people even keep other people's dolls and keep their own kind as servants. It is rumored there is a way to separate from your doll so that it can't control you.

Second is another seven deadly sins role play. In this, every normal human has seven sins that reside within them. Its a constant power struggle. The sins may use logic, sweet talking, or force to convince the human to do as they say. A sin can have more than one human they speak to (so Lust could be Lust for more than one person but they couldn't be a Greed for anyone) but more than one of the same sin can't share a human (so there can't be two lusts with one human). A sin without a human or with a human that doesn't act on that sin will grow weak until they die.
