As the flames started to touch her skin she shrieked. After what seemed like hours she yelled out "Pure! My blood is pure!"

"Aguamenti!" She put the fire out. She waited a few seconds for August to regain hercomposure.
"Now." she said slowly "Will you swear loyalty to the Slytherin House?"

When the burning sensation disappeared August found herself on the ground. She continued to shake but with all this pain came a new thought process. 'These people are hurting you,' a little voice said inside her head 'What makes you think it will get any better if you say yes?' August pushed herself off the ground and stood up as straight as she could looking up at Jesse's face but not her eyes. "N-n-no," she paused for a moment looked her dead in the eyes and said "No,"

Jesse laughed. "That's what I said too." She shook her head, amused. "I was the biggest idiot in the house. Avis!" Nothing happened to August, just several birds flew out the end of Jesse's wand. "Oppugno!"
The birds attacked August

August kept her snide comment to herself as she flung herself to the ground, covering her head the only bare skin being exposed being her hands.

"Swear your loyalty, and I'll get them off! Swear it!"

[Raven]

"You think you're being strong but you're not." The words you could have expected from almost anyone came from the one person you wouldn't have expected them from. Kenny frowned at August. "What good does getting yourself hurt do? I'll tell you: it does nothing. If you don't give in they'll find another way. Plus the more you piss them off the more likely it is they'll hurt all of us, not just you."
Beatrice wasn't sure what to do. Sure the first years weren't supposed to talk, but he had already sworn and he was talking them up....

Kenny was playing the good guy. Huh. She made mental note of this and didn't silence him.

Andrea wished she'd had that idea. She wondered if she'd have some competition or if he just truly felt that way. She hoped it was the latter. She didn't want a rival. "He's right!" She cried. "Don't be stupid!"

[Sar]

Their words made sense but... she couldn't do it. She had made her choice and she stood by it, besides, it was too late now, they already hated her, so her continuing wouldn't change her social status in the place. For the pain she was in that made sense, but as the birds got more vicious pain took over. 'Stop, stop, stop, stop, STOP!' she slammed her hands on the floor and suddenly the birds stopped attacking her. She looked up carefully and saw the birds gone, now replaced with flower petals falling down to the ground. He head felt dizzy and she looked up at Jesse. "I can't swear to that... I'm sorry..." She then faced straight down at the floor and tried to keep herself from falling to the ground.

What the Flipendo was with this girl? She wasn't acting defiant, yet still she refused to swear! "You know you're gonna have to. Now or later. I'd suggest you do it no, before I subject you to more pain."

August's eyes started to flutter shut and she fell to the ground. "I... understand," she whispered and passed out on the floor.

"well. Do any of you want to end up like poor August here?" She asked, reminding herself of the Head Girl who'd been here when she was a first year. When she heard nothing she went over to another random first year. "Whats your name?" she demanded.
"Andrea Wilkins, ma'am" Andrea said, inclining her head towards Jesse in respect.
"Your bloodline?"
"Half blood. Muggle father, witch mother."
Jesse smirked. "What's your mothers maiden name?"
"My mother died when I was very young, ma'am." Andrea answered, thinking fast. "They say it was a car accident, though I have my doubts. I was raised in a Muggle orphanage as per my fathers wishes. When the orphanage moved down I was moved to another one, which is when I got the letter. I'm afraid I never knew my mothers surname."
"Sucks to be you" Jesse said without real emotion.

Ryan, however, was suspicious. It just sounded like a dressed of version of her lie. She was almost positive this girl was a Muggle born.

"So, will you swear loyalty to the Slytherin House?" Jesse asked.
"Of course ma'am. Slytherin is the strongest house in the school, it is an honour to serve it."
Jesse smiled. "I like you." She looked out the window. the sun was coming up already? "Step out of line, Miss Wilkins." She walked up to the next first year and began interrogating them, too.

Andrea stepped out of line, but saw the suspicion on Ryans face. Hm. She was going to need to watch her step around that girl, unless she found something for blackmail.

Eventually Jesse made it to Lynn. "Well how about you, lippy? What's your name?"

[Raven]

"Coralynn Rebecca Villein, and I've got purer blood than anyone in your family ever did," Lynn replied with a smirk.

Jesse smirked. "Someone needs to wash her mouth out." She pointed her wand at Lynn's lips. "
Scourgify!" Pink soap bubbles streamed from lynns mouth, which had been filled with soap by the cleaning spell.

"If that's the best you can do, I'm glad I told the truth," Lynn said when they stopped. "I pledge my allegiance to Slytherin house, but not to you. You still need to apologize to my brother, and to me for assuming that anyone with Villein blood was of such scum. Even if he's half."
