Violet froze, took a deep breath, and walked up to the stool, when the hat was placed on her head. "Oh, very intelligent. Perfect for RAVENCLAW!" Violet took a deep breath and went to sit at the Ravenclaw table.
"Well, there was last year when we got detention for sending Professor Ross venomous tentacula," Ryan answered, smirking. "And then for telling one of the first years we'd feed them to the giant squid.. and actually pretending we were going to."

Royce heard his name and went up. He made it to the stool and sat down but was there for nearly a moment when the hat shouted "Ravenclaw!"

Everybody cheered, Marx gently shoved Royce off the chair, and called up the next relevant student in a clear voice: "Coralynn Villein!"

Lynn strutted to the stool, and the hat just touched her head when it cried, "SLYTHERIN!" There was not an ounce of doubt in either of their minds. Lynn set the hat back on the stool and skittered off to sit with the other Slytherin first-years, having not been able to locate her sister.

Marx couldn't help but shiver at how fast the hat had chosen. He made a note to keep an eye on the girl before calling up the next first year: "Nikola West!"

Nikki moved swiftly towards the hat, muttering darkly. "It's Nikki. Not Nikola, my name is Nikki."
As she stepped up and put on the hat, she couldn't help but smile. After all, her destiney for the next seven years was going to be decided by a hat. How ridiculous was that?
"RAVENCLAW!"
It was a good thing they clapped, Nikki thought, smiling as she took off the hat. She'd never know what table "Ravenclaw" was otherwise. She set the hat on the stool, then walked over and sat near Violet, recognising her from the train.
