"What's blood line? I think I'm O negative. That's rare, right?" Owen asked.
Jeremiah waved his wand, hissing, "Crucio." His favorite spell, for lack of blood, but it had no lack in pain. "Do not speak out of turn," he said as Owen writhed. "Crucia!" The spell ended. "Stand up."
Owen whimpered and did as he was told.

August didn't know how to answer. She had friends outside of the house and family, she couldn't just leave them. She looked down and then looked back up and said "Could you restate the question, I don't quite understand what you are asking," She kept eye contact but in the back of her mind she thought 'What the hell did I just say?'

"Jeremy! Not in the common room!" She snapped at Jerimiah. "They can trace Unforgivables and we don't wan't Clapp coming down on the house again, remember? Save it for the halls, they can't pin it on you there," She turned back to her own charge and wordlessly preformed the Conjunctivitus Curse. "I want a yes or no answer from you and that's it. Will you put the Slytherin house above all else?"

"You shouldn't use spells like that at all," Lynn cried. "They're bad spells!"
Beatrice glanced at her sister, but didn't move to harm her again.

Ryan flicked her wand at Lynn, showering her in red sparks. "Speak when spoken too," she snapped.

"Shut it!" Riley said. "Difendo!" She pointed the wand at Lynn and a gash appeared on her upper leg.
August's eyes began to burn. Why would she put these people above everything else? Se tried to rub her eyes, looking away from the older student.

"Look at me when I'm talking to you!" Jesse snapped "Mobilicorpus!" She levitated August and threw her against the back wall. "Get up and go stand back in line," she snapped. "You still haven't answered my question."

She barely realized what just happened until she hit the ground, her head only inches from hitting the stone fireplace. she could barely see but she managed to push herself off the ground and walk towards the line. She looked up at the general shape of the older student and said "I. Can't. Answer. The Question." If only she had her wand with her. She knew she had no chance at beating them but she could maybe put up a fight. She knew a few spells from Borgin, those could always help her. SHe continued to just stand there, keeping the best eye contact she could.

Lynn winced, placing her hand on her leg.
Jeremiah rolled his eyes. At least he had no chance of killing the kids with the Cruciatus Curse.

"The question is simple, August Hawthorn." Jesse snapped. She still remembered when it'd been she in this lineup. She'd been in Augusts position, the stupid one who got herself tortured.
"Swear loyalty!"
"No... There are things more important than a stupid house,"
The Head Girl slashed her wand and purple flames burst from the tip, whipping across Jessicas chest. It was too much for her and she crumpled.
"Does anyone else want to end up like poor Jessica here?"
The first years shook their heads. Nobody else was willing to stand up after that.

"If we ask you to hex another student, will you do it? If you see a way to sabatoge another team without getting caught, will you? Willl you do everything in your power to make sure we as a team come out ahead? In short... Will you swear loyalty to the Slytherin House?"

August looked up at the torturer, her eyes now beginning to clear. Tanner and Wesley went through her mind, violet and Nikki, all of her friend in other houses.. She looked up at the and said "No,"

Riley winced as her cousin let out the word. 'Nezzera was right, she thought.'

Jesse laughed. "That's what I said too." She shook her head, amused. "I was the biggest idiot in the house. Avis!" Nothing happened to August, just several birds flew out the end of Jesse's wand. "Oppugno!"
The birds attacked August.

Lynn came to August's aide, swatting at the birds. "Stop picking on her!"

August threw herself to the ground, covering her eyes and having her face against the ground. She heard someone else come by her side, helping her but couldn't push herself off the ground. She curled up in a ball and tried to protect herself from the birds now attacking her. Her breathing was quick and she was trying to stay calm, but as the bird attacked her she couldn't help but let tears fall from her already swollen eyes. "Get back over here!" Riley said angrily "Mobilicorpus!" She lifted Lynn off the ground and slammed her back onto the ground where she was supposed to be standing. "Get up! Now!"

"thank you for controlling your charge, Riley," Jesse snapped. Then, to August she said "Swear your loyalty, and I'll get them off! Swear it!"
