Trying to keeps her calm composure for the first years Nezza. She was going to insult him as normal but she let out a breath and said "I kinda missed you too," the closest thing she got to being kind to him.

"No, I mean, how'd they happen?" Liz asked, looking at who she thought were her only friends, "Did somebody beat you guys up? I-I'll get Eric to beat them up!"

Just then Jesse came in, ignoring everybody and sitting down at the Slytherin table only a few seats away from the three first years, Liz, Lynn and Andrea, to hear what was going on. But she tried not to look like she was spying, just eating.
"No, no, nothing like that!" Andrea said quickly. "we're fine Liz. Really," she smiled, then changed the subject. "So you excited for your first day of class?"

"No, not at all. We fell down the stairs when some boy tried to come up to the Girl's dormitories, cause the stairs flattened out. We fell on a vase and got a little cut up is all," Lynn replied calmly. She recalled a letter she'd gotten from Ryan a few years ago on one of the rare occasions his pranks actually failed. He'd discovered the hard way that boys weren't able to get to the girl's dorms.
Jeremiah hugged her quickly, then went to sit beside Jesse back at the Slytherin table.

"Oh, okay..." Liz settled down. Though it was breakfast, she was already wearing her robes, with her wand securely in her pocket. "I'm not really excited because I don't know anyone, so it's kinda scary..." She reached for a piece of toast that was barely out of her reach.

He was a frustrating git but she wished the hug would have lasted. Hopefully when "Doc" was out of the RoR they could use it for their own personal time. She took another bite of toast and looked at her schedule, wondering if her cousin would be back in class before people became suspicious

"Yeah, but I don't want them to pick on me for being muggle-born," she replied quietly. Liz stood up and moved to better access the toast. She finally snatched it from a large pile, only to clumsily knock over a goblet of milk onto Jesse.
"Can't keep up with a mudblood?" shouted Eric, running backwards down the stairs, dangerously close to the great hall.

"They won't, I'm sure," Lynn replied, picking up the goblet and handing her napkin to Jesse.
Ryan glared. "Shut up, Eric!" Then he tripped, tumbling headfirst down the stairs.

Tanner sat down with Wesley at the Gryffindor table, joking and laughing with him as usual. Once, he wondered where August was, but drove that thought quickly from his mind.
Finally, Ryan stepped into the hall. Having to take that stupid detour, she missed most of breakfast. She sat down at the Slytherin table.
"Yeah, I'm sure you could make friends easily Liz," Andrea grined. "Just go talk to people."
When Liz knocked over the glass, Jesse gasped. "My robes!" she cried. "You stupid mudblood!" She snatched the napkin from Liz's hand and tried to mop it up, but it was no use, she'd have to change. She pulled out her wand in anger, preparing to curse Liz, when Andrea grabbed her arm.
"Jesse, think. You're in the great Hall. There are teachers watching. Cursing her would be reputation suicide."
Jesse realised she was right. "I'll deal with you later," she spat at Liz, then turned and walked out of the hall.
"You... may want to lay low for awhile. Jesse's Slytherin Head Girl, and a nasty piece of work." Andrea said to Liz. She hoped what she'd just done wouldn't damage her reputation with either of them

Liz squealed in fright when she realized what she had done. "I'm so so so sorry!" she exclaimed, stunned and unable to move in pure horror. She was prepared to die when the wand was pointed at her. She just shrunk in terror as Jesse spoke, and nearly collapsed when she left.
"I-I-I'm sorry," she mumbled, more to herself than anything. She looked up at Andrea and nodded.
Eric laughed in response at Ryan's lack of coordination. He offered a hand to help his friend up.

Lynn hugged Liz. "It's okay, Liz. She can't hurt you. It would be too obvious who did it," she said quickly.
Ryan looked up at Eric. "Yeah, just laugh at my pain, some friend you are... I think I broke a bone," he exaggerated, taking Eric's hand.
Violet looked down at her food. "That's awful," she murmured. "But no matter what, I won't leave you here alone."

Liz started at the hug, but accepted it. "B-b-b-but wh-what if she d-does later on?" she asked, terrified of being hurt by a witch.
Eric helped his friend to his feet and gave him an encouraging pat on the back. "I'm the best friend in the world," he insisted.
