At some point during the feast, Cromwell waved his hands again, and the meal disappeared, replaced by desert.

Finally, when even desert was over, Cromwell stood and waved his hands one last time, all the food disappearing. "Now that you're all full, I'm sure you're tired. Prefects, if you would lead your house's first years to your common rooms. Have a good night." Cromwell sat back down.

That morning, Andrea walked with Lynn to the Great Hall for breakfast.

Tanner came up from the Hufflepuff common room early, hoping to catch Wesley or August.

Lynn walked arm-in-arm with Andrea.

Violet made the long trek back from Ravenclaw tower. She got lost three times, but finally found her way to the Great Hall

Nikki followed a fifth year she didn't know, and so did not get lost on the way to the Great Hall.
Trisha, unaware she was being folllowed by Nikki, trekked wearily to the Great Hall and sat alone, at the far end of the Ravenclaw table, closest to the door. Just like it had always been since Ryan.

Violet sat beside Trisha. "Why are you sitting all alone?" she asked, then a moment later, "This seat isn't taken, is it?"

Trisha shook her head. "But I'd advise you to sit somewhere else. Nobody'll talk to you if you hang out with me." She didn't even look at the first year, just sat there poking at her food.

[Raven]

"Well, you'll talk to me, won't you?" Violet asked. "And Nikki will talk to me, I'm sure. And August, and Tanner and Wesley."

Liz made her way to the Great Hall with a bit of apprehension. She had made it through the night, but she was still freaked out by the multitude of staircases. As she traversed the changing stairs, she found Lynn and the other girl from her compartment also making their way towards the Great Hall. She ran towards them, mostly for company.

"Hey!" she called happily.

[Raven]

"Hello, Liz." Lynn couldn't help but yawn. After the initiation, she'd changed clothes and washed the blood out of her hair, though there was still a little bit on her face she'd missed, and she'd completely neglected to wash it off her chest.

"Hey!" Andrea said happily to Liz, recognising her from the train. "How are you?"

"None of the older Ravenclaws will," Trisha said, sighing. "And probably not even your first-year friends once the older people get around to them,"

Nikki saw Violet talking to a fifth-year, and decided not to bther them. She sat down and began eating, eager for her first day at Hogwarts.

"Hi guys," greeted Liz, a rare smile appearing on her face, "I'm okay, how are--" She noticed the blood on Lynn's face with a start. "What happened?" she demanded, concern overwhelming her.

[Sar]

Nezza walked into the dining hall and sat down at the Hufflepuff table, eating her normal egg on toast. She let out a sigh and looked at the Slytherin table. 'Dammit Augusta,' she thought 'Every damn time you have to mess something up,'

"Oh well. Why doesn't anyone like you?" Violet asked.

"What?" Lynn asked. "What do you mean?"

Jeremiah crossed over to the Hufflepuff table, sitting beside Nezza. "I've missed you so much," he murmured.

Andrea, whose solitary cut on the side of the head was still bleeding, shrugged. "These? Meh, it was nothing, really. It looks worse than it is."

"My best friend used to be a really nasty Slytherin girl. Nobody wants to associate with that." Trisha sighed.
