I noticed the temperature coming from the creature's licks. This worries me more then slightly. I attempt petting it in order to calm it down. Then I realize.
"Oh... I haven't named you yet have I?" I say holding the little one out in front of me. I stare at it a long while, debating several names when it hits me.
"I don't know what gender you are... But until I know, or find out you already have a name, I will call you Stephano."
I look forward to the forest, bringing the little one close again.
"Come Stephano. We have much to figure out."
I continue walking.

"Oh yes. Lets see." he looks around the surroundings.
"Alright, listen closely. If you head that way," he says pointing the way, "you will come to a decline in the forest, at the bottom is a short drop, shouldn't be a problem. There will be a field at the bottom with strange plants. It's important you pay attention to things around you there. Open fields are dangerous. On the other side is more forest, continue until you see a lake, don't approach it, if you do stick to the shallows. Find a way around it. Once you reach that point wait for me there for more directions. I'll be scouting ahead for things that don't stay in one place. Got it?"
He tilts his head.

Newly named Stephano didn't seem to react to the name. He nuzzled the woman he believed was his mother.

I stop and look down to Stephano.
"Aw....Whats wrong little one?"
I think about it for awhile, then an idea comes.
"You're hungry arn't you?" I worry a bit about this.
What would I do to find food for it? I assume it's not a herbivore, and I didn't know these plants.
"Don't worry. I'll find something."
I start scanning the trees for birds and the ground for small animals. Hopefully I'd find a brook with fish in it or something.
Then another idea comes along. Hopefully it was a whine for food, and not one for fear of something in the area.

I looked at Skyler and then to Rave "Shouldn't we be trying to get out of here? I mean, in every story I've read or written, the forest is where they start when they want to make an attack," I then looked at Arrianna. "You would know the quickest way out, wouldn't you?"

I search high and low until I spot something, a glimmer, something I oddly recognized. I investigate and find a lacey golden butterfly resting on a tree trunk, a soft whistle sound comes when it flaps its wings.
"...A Flute Wing?"
It was something I made up years ago. They were harmless, unlike so many of the other things I made up. I really would rather not harm it since it was so small, but knew it meant water was nearby. As that's where the flowers they liked grew. I continue on expecting I'm going in the right direction.

I sent Raven my obligatory "Good morning" text when my cell phone's alarm went off, and proceeded to roll out of bed. I went about my regular morning routine as usual--select my clothes, shower, ponder life, get out of the shower, get dressed, eat, brush my teeth, go to school. The day went on as usual, with the odd exception that a certain someone hadn't replied to my incessant texting. I was honestly beginning to get worried. She always replied, except for when she didn't.
I dozed off sometime during World Civ, a thin line of drool running from my lip onto my sketchbook. My body jolted, just briefly, before I fell into one of the craziest dreams...

Stephano didn't care how harmless the thing was, he struggled free of Sparrow's arms and pounced, snapping the butterfly up in his jaws.

I feel a bit bad for the butterfly, but it really did make scavenging easier.
I pick up Stephano after it finishes and continue along. After a few yards I hear more of the chiming sounds from the Flute Wing, but something was off, I knew it.
I found a stream that was, sure enough, littered with the pastel flowers. The chiming came from above. I glance up and freeze. There were hundreds of butterflies nesting above, coating the canopy. Several roosted on the ground.
"Ohhhh.... This is bad." I mutter quietly, attempting not to startle them.

I watched Cheshire dissappear and was very nervous. Suddenly it didn't seem like such a bad idea to have company. Suck it up, just get moving I snapped at myself. I put my hand in my jacket pocket, withdrew my phone and headphones, and turned on some music.
"Do, do-de-do do do-do-do, do do-de-do do do-do-do..."
In hindsight, it probably wasnt the greatest idea to be listening to creepy vocaloid in the middle of the forest cwhen literally anything was possible. IO was lucky I didn't run into Alice one. Or the two creepy kids from Trick or Treat. Or vivian. Especially Vivian.

I bit my bottom lip in frustration. 'I'd expect this attitude from Tex, not you,'
I calmed my facial features realizing that the others were not part of this conversation and to them I was manic. I smiled the best I could and said "That's great! Is it... Easy to get out or..." My thoughts started to jumble together, 'Great,' I thought, this aimed at no one in particular. Skyler put his hand on my shoulder and then spoke aloud to Arrianna "It would be great for you to get us out of here, preferably somewhere to where we can rest. This part of the world is as new as me is it is to them,"
