In a time when the Earth's societies were at the peak of self destruction, America was the first to take a step toward total global domination. Creating a network of twenty Titan Laser Satellites, the American government had prepared to vaporize enemy capitals across the globe. If anyone was going to spark warfare, it would be America. However, through launching the satellites, the United States government had unknowingly made themselves not only a threat to all other nations on the planet, but gave extraterrestrial civilizations reason for worry. Earth, whether it liked it or not, had become a player in the interstellar game of war. Parallel to these events, another race of beings existed in a tense collection of societies on the brink of war. On the planet Tenagog, the advanced and peaceful Volvonox race all breathed shallowly in their respective nations, rumors of total war on the home planet slowly ripping apart the harmony. Even with a steadily progressing span of planets under their control, with two foothold colonies as well as a strapping third one on the way, shattered peace was a gambit no one nation dared take, but was in consideration to all.
Viewing these two civilizations was a third. The secretive and consuming Frenthroo race saw and feared the humans as well as the Volvonox. Full scale war wasn't something they wanted to risk, but a plan was formed by the most sinister minds of the Frenthroo. A war between both the humans and the Volvonox could be started, throwing both peoples into ruin. So, two ships were sent covertly and quietly to each home planet. On Tenagog, the prince Maurtu was abducted, acting as the sole heir to the United Empires faction, the strongest and most dominant people on Tenagog. From Earth, the son of Russia's prime minister was abducted. The boy was named Ivan, and was chosen for his innate obsession with conquering and control. The ships met with each other after departure and did the unthinkable: the minds of young Ivan and Maurtu were swapped, then partially wiped blank. They would have no memory of their home worlds, but their natures would be preserved for the sake of their mission. The boys were brought back home, appearing as if they had gotten lost on their own accord, and the evil plot of the Frenthroo had been set in motion. They had planted the seeds for a galactic war, a war they hoped would put them in power.
(The stories of each will be posted, so the parallel stories come into place and the intersecting stories brought by the people will be fully understood)

Maurtu grew up, raised with a love for Russia and a hardy attitude. However, in the back of his mind, the disturbing threat of America's atmospheric dominance only looked more and more like opportunity. For a large part of his life, he studied computer hacking techniques more and more furiously, until he came to the age of 36. He infiltrated the Pentagon, posing as the Secretary of Defense, and hacked the Titan Laser grid. He targeted capitals all across the world, and knew just how to destroy all order in the world with a little strategy. Within 48 hours of entering the Pentagon, Maurtu had destroyed all government in the world, and he quickly usurped any authority in the world. He had hired on legions of mercenaries to be a personal army, and he began to scour the shattered Earth, bringing together all the world's population. He brought anyone that wasn't a skilled geneticist or roboticist and sent them to the southern hemisphere. He took all the technology from the south and brought it to his newly constructed Palace Utopia in the north. A great wall was erected centrally on the equator, and a new order shortly came into place. Everyone in the south acted as a Dark Age peasant, with only one chance to come forward into the utopia: a crucial test that not only evaluated a mandatory education, but a person's character as well. If the test was passed, a person was taken from their families and sent into the paradise cities of the north. Maurtu established this system to sort the benevolent and intelligent from the wicked and the idiotic. Maurtu then put to work all the robotic engineers and genetic engineers. He had several clones made of himself then put into stasis, with means of transferring his memory into the minds of the copies, so his reign would never end. Then, robots aplenty were made to keep order where human guard and authority could not work. This system actually brought the fitful human race into an era of peace of progress, and their newest calling was nigh.
About 120 years passed, and the "benevolent and gracious ruler M" as he called himself, was ready to introduce a new concept to the scientists of Earth. An engine he thought he had designed on his own, but had actually been common on his own world, was brought to the workforce of Earth. The engineers, unsure of what to expect from a design as unusual as this, set to work. They completed the first ever human engineered quantum accelerator in history, calling it Hermes's Grace. The first ship ever designed to land on alien planets and store colonists and colonial supplies was produced shortly after. After launch, the greatest achievement to the human race had been made. An incredibly short 8 months of travel brought an explorer team to a planet that sustained life that appeared untouched by the hands of an intelligent species. It was ripe for the picking, and on its return home, the Starship Catalyst prepared a colony population along with a plethora of equipment and a small specially trained combat force. After a short 6 years, the planet called Frontier 6 was a thriving home to cities and military bases alike. M was unsatisfied, however, and wanted another colony in his possession. His demands were met, and Colonization Mission Beta began. However, even if the bounties of the new world Synoro lied in wait, a competitor also waited beyond the horizon.

Ivan was raised by a father convinced he was a god to his subjects and the doom of his rival nations. In truth, King Parafren was demented, his mind was long gone, tearing on the fragile faith his people had in him. They longed for the reign of his son, hoping that change would come for the better. However, their hopes of prosperous harmony were shattered the very year of his coronation. Ivan marched the mightiest of soldiers onto the lands of the south, declaring war on the world. Tenagog had entered into the terror of its first ever World War. The fighting raged on for at least a decade, then something happened that only agitated the fire of warfare. Both of the two major colonies joined separate sides of the war, and the third had been forsaken and isolated. The war waged for another twenty years, and victory was still within the grasp of either side. At this time, the long range communication devices used to contact the colonies were destroyed in battle. The colonies had been cut off, with no way home. Thirty more years passed, and a champion finally arose. The United Empires had officially defeated the south, and global unity had been achieved. In all the history of the Volvonox, no such aggression had ever been used as means of progression in society. The United Empires now completely controlled the home planet and the two major colonies, but the third colony lay far away. Ivan saw no sense in attempting to repair a starved society, so he abandoned the stragglers beyond the stars. He wanted a fresh start for his people and his kingdom, and he demanded drastic leaps forward.
His wishes were fulfilled. In a short 50 years more, another two colonies as splendorous as the first were established. Ivan's thirst was not sated, however. He wanted more. So another suitable planet was found, and ships were prepared to take the world by storm. 10 years later, they met their goal, only to encounter a rival of epic proportions.

This spells out the events leading up to the RP. You can be either a human or Volvonok: -Colonist (Travels in a small scouting party along with other colonists to find a suitable location to settle. Works at settlement.) -Soldier (Travels with Colonist parties and defends against wild animals and other possible dangers. Commissioned AK-47's and Revolvers if human, commissioned Kinetic Blaster [Shotgun] and Energy Dagger if Volvonok) -Scientist (Tags along with Colonist parties, correcting actions that could potentially damage the ecosystem as well as studying the environment and geology)
(Note: Volvonok are primarily humanoid, but red skinned with long ears. They also have only three clawed toes with a jagged tail.)
I will begin each side's story, taking place on opposite ends (far north for humans/ far south for Volvonok) of the same continent.
~~ "Greetings to all you lucky pioneers out there!" A robotic voice shouted into the mandatory earpiece devices. "Welcome to Synoro, the third planet in the mighty Earthen Empire! Please report to a service drone if you have any questions about colonial vehicles or equipment. All colonists, please report to either preparation port Alpha, Beta, or Gamma. If this broadcast cannot be heard clearly or is at a lower volume than specified on the volume control dial, please report to a maintenance drone for a free repair. Good luck to all you go-getters! Have fun!" The broadcast halted, punctuated by a short white noise. The ceiling lights flickered and shorted for a moment, then continued to beam down steadily. The closed gates marked Alpha, Beta, and Gamma shuttered and began to rise. "Colonists are now free to file into their desired party." A booming voice sounded over an intercom.
~~ A holographic figure flashed into existence over the pedestal. It waved slowly, then began, "Welcome to your new home, sir or madam. We strongly advise procurement of a Pioneer's guide pamphlet before heading out. Once you are physically and emotionally prepared, please step into the hallway leading to the outside. We appreciate your sacrifice. For the glory of Tenagog!" The hologram faltered, then vanished. A large sliding door at the end of the room flew open, revealing a drone with several eyes and a small voice modulator.

Major Celven saw the openning gates and took one last long puff of smoke from his cigerette, then throwing it to the ground. He adjusted his Duster, which seemed like something from the old west, complete with a leather hat. He turned to his employer, "Door's are openning, are you going?" he asked the man seated next to him.

The man stood up, "Yes I do belive it to be time." He said, dusting off his black suit. His face was hidden underneath a mask. The mask was primaily black.

The android surveyed the lobby once more, then concluded with, "Unauthorized contraband scans negative. Landing bay lobby secure." He looked over at the gentlemen standing near the bench, unsure if protocol allowed leisurely conversation. He brought up his work schedule once more, and saw 15 minutes where he was intended to power down for energy preservation as dictated by the snobby EEPA officials, but he had plenty of charge left, so he decided to approach this pair of interesting men. "Good morning, gentlemen! How are you this fine day on Synoro?"

The Employer look at the bot speaking to them. "Oh, quite much. Though, I, unlike most types of sinical Colonists, have review work schedule and protocol. I, in fact know you should be on charge mode." he said, his black mask showing no emotion. "I could report you for a malfunction or a faulty bot and send you to recycle. Or worse, redemption."

The android cringed, and dashed to the nearest charge terminal, quickly powering down to charge. He was scared to death of the officials. Especially one wearing a faceless mask.

"Come on, let's go." The Employer said, moving toward Gamma Gate.

*Human*
An automated terminal buzzed in a deep monotone, "Identification, please." It produced a small reader meant for swiping I.D. cards.

*Volvonok*
Mercia looked through her notes again. The research on the ecology was poor, so she was here to fix that. She just hoped that no one would bug her about dress protocol. She didn't care if the first 500 tydrens (835 miles) was nothing but scorching desert. She wanted her researchers gear all packed, and dressing lightly meant losing pockets and bags. Maybe she was a bit of a pack rat, but the south of the continent was practically untouched and unexplored. She wanted every tool in her arsenal at her disposal, even if she would almost melt. Cheapskate snobs. Won't allow transport for private researchers. How do they expect things to get done on this rock if the specialists are crippled? She walked over to the most promising group of colonists, and asked around for a leader. "Is anyone here that I can talk to? I'm here researching the south of Rgawai. I need to see a leader or someone in charge."

A man stepped forward, giving a deep bow, his hand to his heart. "That would be me, miss~" he started in a singsong voice.

"My name is Merica. Now, do you have room for a tag along? I'm researching the southern regions of the continent and need a traveling party." Mercia lifted her hand for a handshake, trying to keep as professional as possible.

He took the hand, shaking it vigorously, but not painfully. He smirked. "Why of course~"
