Lizzie was walking from her school to meet her brother, Alex, when she found him. Botamon. She gasped. "Oh, you're so cuuuute!" she exclaimed, bending down and trying to get a better look at what she had taken as some kind of fat black kitty. Botamon was under a bush, so it was difficult to see him, but once she got a good look she realized it was most definitely not a kitty, nor was it any other animal she knew of. "Hello," she said to him, offering her hand for him to sniff. Botamon didn't. Elizabeth edged closer. "Don't worry, I won't hurt you," she breathed.
"Well why would you hurt me?" Botamon asked.
Lizzie jumped, she hadn't expected that. "Eep!"
"Don't look so frightened. I'm only a digimon."
"Digimon?" Liz asked quietly.
"Yes, digimon! I am Botamon," he announced.
Lizzie smiled shyly. "I'm Lizzie." Her missing front tooth made her look that much cuter when she smiled.
"It's nice to meet you, Lizzie," Botamon said.
Lizzie fiddled with her shoe laces before she asked. "I have to go meet my brother. Will I see you again?"
"Aren't I coming with you?" Botamon questioned.
Lizzie giggled. "Would you? Would you please?"
"Certainly, let's go!"
"Would you like to ride in my backpack? It's clean and safe in there," Lizzie suggested.
"Good idea."
And so it was that Lizzie and Botamon went looking for Alex together, Botamon in the little girl's backpack. "Alex?" Lizzie called once she got to the auditorium. He should have been here, but it didn't look like anyone was. Maybe they got out early. Or had she really spent that much time cleaning her backpack and talking to Botamon? She hoped Alex wasn't looking for her. If he was, he'd be worried.
