"No actually. No I'm not." he glances around the surroundings. "Just seeing where I'll end up really." he shrugs then looks back to Ryan. "Seriously though, if I somehow offended you by coming here that was not my intent."

"Then leave." Max looked shyly at Lark. She didn't often see people who weren't part of her, albeit large, family.

"Fine fine, just point the way that'll keep me from treading on your nowheres and somewheres." He nods kindly to Max to acknowledged her, and hopefully show he meant them no ill will.

"Oh, come now. How would you know how far I walked?" he asks crossing his arms.

"Because every footstep you take on my nowheres and somewheres makes me shiver," Ryan growled.

Lark can't help but smirk at this. "Well then. That will all stop once I reach the next city then won't it?" He sighs and looks for a way to go to continue on his journey.

"Does the government know you're traveling?" Ryan asked. His shirt hid the fact that he didn't have the tattoo.

At the question Lark narrows his eyes. Great, this is where things go wrong... he thinks concerned. He could use one of the words from the book he had found, he memorized a few of them. They wouldn't do him much good, but he figured on using one or two in the least. ... After all he'd probably be caught. "No, no they don't. I guess that makes me a rebel in the sight of a tyrant." He didn't care if this person wouldn't understand the terms he'd used. He was going to use them at least once before fleeing the government.

Ryan tilted his head and immediately his attitude towards the person was different. "I've heard those words. What do they mean?" He had guessed what they had meant after reading over them so many times, but he would still like to know if he was right.

Noticing the change in Ryan's personality surprises Lark slightly. But gives him reason to trust him a bit more. "Well, rebel in that sense means 'one that goes against authority' and tyrant in that sense means 'ruler or government who uses authority harshly, and or rules brutally.'"

Ryan nodded, his assumptions proving mostly correct. "I thought so... Where did you learn them?"

"I feel I should ask where you heard them first... Caution and all that." he doesn't try to sound rude. But he didn't wish to disclose the book to someone he wasn't sure about.

"You see, I could say the same. And I think I have a bit more reason to be cautious," Ryan said, nodding at Max. He wasn't going to endanger his family by talking to this guy. "So until I get your answer all I'll say is that it was a book."

Lark nods, understanding his reasoning. "And I won't deny it was a book." he says simply in response.
